This is yet another what should I book in Vegas thread. I have been scouring the forums and other places trying to come up with the best possible plan for a Vegas trip with 3 single guys. For 2 of us it will be our first time in Vegas, me being one of the 2. My biggest issue is, for my brother, money plays a factor. The other 2 of us can splurge a little bit. My brother wants to spend $500-700 for the flight and hotel. We can get round trip tickets for $300 bucks so that leaves $200-400 per person for a room. I was looking at the dates of April 22-26, so during the week.

So here is my conundrum. Should we get 1 nice suite at the Palazzo/Venetian for the 4 nights, which would put us at the top end of my brothers price range with resort fees and extra person fees? Or should we get two rooms at a cheaper place? I want to stay mid strip so near the Bellagio/Caesar’s/Planet Hollywood.

My friend also has 2 tickets for 2 nights free each at Paris which would work nicely for the 2 rooms idea. The only problem I have with Paris is I have read about how outdated it is and it is more of a couples/family themed hotel. I know the smart play would be to use these and disregard the hotels looks because really how often are you going to be in your room, but I also don’t want my brother’s first and maybe only time in Vegas remembering a crappy hotel.

Should we go to Paris with 2 rooms or get a Suite at a nicer place like the Venetian/Palazzo? Any other suggestions?

    Get 2 rooms.

Paris is not a crappy hotel.

Kind of depends on what you're there for. If its three younger guys looking to party in Vegas, that is not Paris. Look at PHo. Not quite as cheap as Paris, but I believe it is more affordable than Venetian

You should look at Planet hollywood and go with two rooms.

You often can get PH for the same price as Paris. But the OP has free rooms at Paris. They can walk next door if they feel the need to experience the PH "vibe" -- though I can't imagine that's a Vegas must do. In any event, they'll want to escape Harrah's World as much and as often as possible.

Take the free rooms. Paris is a good location and you don't have to stay there. Use the money you save to buy other experiences. Visit as many hotels as you can while you're there, that way you'll know which ones you like.

What sort of deal is this? If he is a regular CET player, he should check out the rate calendar. Might have other offers.

    This.

Especially for first timers, you really won't be in your room, and might as well enjoy the freebies. Plus, you don't want to start at the very top and then every place after that can/will be a disappointment. At least with Paris, the price is right and you on your second trip (there will be a second trip) you can try a new place.

PHo is an easy walk, you're across the street from the Bellagio, and there is a bus stop out front. It's pretty sweet for free!

Like Blue said, there will be a second trip, just ask the non virgin. Leave some room for improvement and some cash to play with. You don't want your brother to be strapped for cash before he hits the ground...give'em 4 hrs at least.

I got some coupons at Xmas time from Paris that I could give someone to use for a free room. Didn't look too close, but it sounds like what OP is talking about

Thanks for all the input. I will go with the 2 rooms at Paris which is what I was leaning toward after thinking it over. Gives my brother some extra spending cash and in walking distance of a lot of the other major hotels.

All good advice here. See your first couple of Vegas trips as educational. It really does take a while to get the feel of the place. Don't gamble too much. NEVER NEVER fall into that trap of trying to "win back a little bit." You will just lose more until it is all gone. Trust me. Just relax and see the sights. It will be a blast!!!

Well, Paris is not a crappy hotel. But if you are 3 younger guys it's not the party place you are looking for. PH is right next door though so you'll be close to "home" if you are there til the wee hours of the morning. Don't plan too much...just go with the flow when you get there. The Venetian is maybe a 10 to 15 min walk tops and there will be plenty of sights along the way. I stay back and forth between Paris and the Flamingo so yes, it is a very good location for getting to several other properties. It is a little bit of a hike to the NYNY and MGM area (25 mins?) from what I remember.

Free rooms at Paris is the best option.

Remember comfortable shoes, free drinks are not really free, and you and your brother look over first timers threads.

I have stayed at Paris 3 times and have had a bad experience every time. Bunch of azzholes at front desk and the rooms are run down. But on the upside, it's free for you and the location is top notch on the strip. I would still take the free rooms if I were you.

Take the free room. I'd wager a bet to say that all you are really going to be using it for is a place to put your stuff and sleep. Having said that, I've never stayed at the Paris and I'm not a fan of the theme, but a free room is a free room...

Use that money for gambling and dining. Paris is in a good location. You can walk to gamble anywhere else. They'll be happy to take your money at any casino :wink2:
