    My Trip Report

We've just checked in to the Radisson Blu hotel at Manchester Airport (UK) and we're ready to fly back to our favourite city tomorrow at 11:45am. I did a semi-live trip report on here when we went to Vegas last October but unfortunately it was not a lucky trip at all so we are hoping for better luck this time.

We're 'winning' already as we got the flights for £395 each which, compared to the past few years, is the best price we have paid for economy. We paid an extra £50 each to select our favourite seats on the back row of the 747 bubble on the right side so that we get a view of the Strip before landing.

M, my boyfriend, is Gold on Mlife and we got an offer for 2 free nights at Aria (+$100 resort credit) so we will be staying there for the first couple of nights and then moving over to Vdara for the following 7 nights which is where we stayed last year. We chose Vdara again because we loved the size of the 'Vdara Suite' and liked the convenience of the in-room fridge. We also liked the central location as it was very easy to get to Aria, Monte Carlo, Cosmo, PH and Bellagio.

We spend a lot of time gambling and we are hoping to find the confidence to join a Craps table. We have only ever played Bubble Craps previously. I'm also on a bit of a mission as I'd love to get a handpay (wouldn't we all) so I'll be doing more slot-hopping than usual. We'll play Poker, Blackjack and Roulette too.

We have tickets for LOVE on Friday and might look into getting tickets for Absinthe too. We have food reservations for Julian Serrano, GR Steak, Bally's Sterling Brunch, Samba at Mirage and Tender Steak at Luxor and plans for lots of buffets! (Self-confessed buffet freaks here!) Hopefully we'll get to go to The Mob Museum this time as well. Apart from that we will just be going with the flow.

On a side note... when we went to Vegas last year I was about 35lbs heavier than I am today so I'm feeling very proud!

I'll try to do this TR semi-live :) Hope you enjoy!

Looking forward to following your trip.

Always fly from Manchester myself. Good luck in Vegas.

What is it with 50s? I think I heard that they're unlucky?

For real though, what is the thought process for thinking you need 50s? Do you hate winning money?

I went to my bank to get my Vegas cash today and they tried to give me 50's. I just said, "No thanks. I need hundreds." and they went to the vault. I blame the OP's bank. :)

Good luck on your trip! Have fun and get that hand pay!

(and don't worry about the "50s", pretty sure the cards/dice don't know which denomination you are using to buy in)

Good point. :) You might get some looks from superstitious players, probably more likely at table games, but nobody has ever refused my money in Vegas. It all spends the same $2, $10, $50 or $100.

That happened to me 2 weeks ago when I went to get my $$ for our trip. Credit union mgr said I can give you $50's we don't have enough $100s. I told him I needed $100s, I'll hit another branch.

Clarification: I liked the 100s, 20s, and 10s in the picture!
I'm with the peanut gallery on the opinion of the 50s!

Unfortunately I couldn't choose which bills I got as I changed currency online and had it delivered. Maybe I'll ask a casino to change them all for me :)

We've just had breakfast here at the hotel and just sorting out our stuff and then it's a short indoor walk to the terminal.

    It's VEGAS DAY!!!

Watching planes take off from our hotel room. It's a bit gloomy.

All checked in. Security didn't go smoothly as all my bags plus the shoes I'm wearing got stopped and searched but finally through and waiting in the departure lounge. Boarding in about an hour
