    My Trip Report

Back from your little trip, (wish I wasn't though).

This trip out was to be a little wedding anniversary trip for me and the wife (14 years) as well as one for our friends (15 years). One of them had never been out to Vegas it was his first time. I think he might go back. :)

Flight: IND to CLE to LAS. Never again will I not fly direct. I don't mind a little lay over but this one was just to long. We only took these flights cause our friends has $200 vouchers to use and gave both me and my wife $200 vouchers. In the end though the costs were not that great even with $200 off and with the lay-over it wasn't worth it.

Ride: Arrived in Vegas about 1:30 pm. Rough landing our friend about had to use the little barf bag. I admit it was bad. Good thing was Limo was there waiting out is. Presidential Limo is very professional and did a great job on pickup and drop-off.

Hotel: Arrived at Flamingo about 2:30 or so. Traffic was bad. Line was long but went quick. I had called and said I had the GO email for the upgraded GO Room. They didn't ask anything about it and quickly gave me a nice GO room with pool view. Room was very clean and had the ipod cable connection in it. (which I heard wasn't the case most of the time)

Pool: We rented a Cabana for Thursday. Cabana was nice. They upgraded the TV's to LCD's in them since I was there last year. It was very windy Thursday in Vegas and they had decided to not turn on the misters, my wife asked the pool host and he basically brushed us off said he would check on it and we never saw him again. Our fridge didn't work in the cabana either. They don't give you mixers anymore according to the host as well. Needless to say we were very dissapointed in the cabana this year. We expressed our concerns to the hotel at checkout they told us to see the manager at the show box. We did and she took our name and number and was going to look into it. We got a call while in the Limo (about 30 mins later) from Mike the host that brushed us off. Kinda got up set with him on the phone too. He said that it was just our opinion that he wasn't polite and that he was. He didn't brush us off and it again was just our opinion that the service wasn't good. Isn't my opinion what matters? I'm the customer. I asked for his bosses name and he finally gave it to me. I plan on calling him. But it doesn't look like I will get any thing from my poor experience.

    Gambling:
I usually play a lot of Blackjack, Video Poker, and or Craps. This time out though I didn't touch a Blackjack or craps table. Wife doesn't play much of those so I didn't want to just leave her watching. Our Friends didn't gamble at all really. I think they may have tossed 40 or 60 total in some slots. We did play a lot of slots, with no big win. Each morning the wife and I would go to the bar and play some video poker for a hour or two while having some screwdrivers. I didn't get any wins at all at VP. My only luck at all came at believe it or not Roulette. Some how I just got really lucky there. Wife loves Roulette and I let her play alot while just watching and picking numbers here and there. I hit several times on my #'s.

    Food:
We didn't eat anywhere really nice, (our friends were on a budget that wasn't gong to allow really fine dinning) We did eat at Bellagio buffet which is really good. Other then that it was just things like morning muffins at the pink bean in Flamingo. Lunches were at Jimmy Buffets, Pool side in the Cabana, and Rain Forest Cafe (I really don't like that place, but went with the crowd). Dinners at Bellagio like I said, Deli at the Rio, and BLT burger.

    Misc:
It was VERY busy I thought. For it being a down time for Vegas I found it busy busy busy everywhere.
Wind, seems to shut down a lot in Vegas. Fountains were off at Belliago misters at our pool. Just didn't expect that.
Vacations suck, I mean not mine, but when you go out to Rio and the party in the sky is on vacation that kinda sucks.
Sight seeing sucks. We did a LOT of walking through casinos and malls and this and that since our friend had never been to Vegas. I know things change, but not that much. I don't plan on doing that again.

We only do non stop flights to Vegas. We figure we would rather spend our time in Vegas than in some airport layover. Funny your host didn't think you opinion mattered; maybe, if you took your gambling elsewhere he would change his mind.

I can only hope that someday there is a NS flight to LAS from here! Allegient was here for a few months but with the gas prices last year they pulled out and never came back. Wouldn't mind some JetBlue if they didn't make us fly to New York first :)

As for traveling with another couple...we won't do it! :) I'm more than happy to meet people in Vegas but unless we've set up specific things to do together, we're all on our own! One of my girlfriends from Seattle is flying in when we go in Sept and I was getting a little worried that I would feel like I had to alter our plans to spend all our time with her...until she just posted that she got engaged in Greece...so I'm hoping her fiance will join her now :)
