    My Trip Report

This was our 3rd trip here & it was great! We flew from Long Island to Las Vegas on Southwest (without being charged for an extra seat). We used Las Vegas Limo for our transfers & checked into the Mirage Sunday afternoon (thanks WW). We put our stuff down & headed for Kahunaville for some lunch. We sat right in front of their water wall. It was great to watch. After lunch we checked out the casino a bit (lost some money) & went upstairs to get ready for dinner. We had 8:00 rexervations at Emerils, which was so good! I will go back there again. We stopped at the big six wheel in Mirage because the dealer was drawing a crowd with his humorous jokies. He asked us to sit down & help buy the casino some new carpet, so we did until the shift changed & then we went upstairs. Woke up the next morning & went to breakfast at Mirage's cafe, & then headed for the pool. The pool area is beautiful, but finding 2 chairs was difficult at 11:30am. Also, the pool is freezing! Not just cold, but freezing. After getting goosebumps in the pool for a few hours, we went to tour the Secret Garden & Dolphin Habitat. It was ok. For dinner we had our 1st experience with Bellagio's Buffet (WW again). This buffet is out of this world! I would eat there again, but when we left there was a HUGE line. They were telling people it was a 3 hour wait!!! The desserts alone are worth it! We stopped at Paris, & went up the Eiffel Tower. What a view. Took lots of Pictures, & saw the Pink Panther Water show. We headed back to our rooms, but Jon at the Big Six wheel saw us, so we donated some more money. On Tuesday we had breakfast at Mirage's Buffet (WW), & then checked out. We have 3 more nights at Luxor with my parents.

We got a East Tower room at the Luxor. Awseome tub. The bed was hard as a rock. We then went to meet my parents by the pool. We stayed at the pool for the day, having some yard drinks, and finally staggered back to the room around 6 to get eady for dinner. We all met at Nefertititi's lounge at about 7:30 & headed down to Bertolini's in Ceasars mall for dinner. We did some shopping & then headed back to Excaibur to try to win a jeep. Well, we didn't get the jeep, but I walked away with $150 more than I started with. Wednesday morning we got together with Mom (Dad had a class in the morning) & went to Paris for the breakfast buffett. It was very good. Dad met us & we did some shopping at Aladdin's mall. We decided to have dinner at Ricardo's in MGM for dinner. This is my favorite restaurant. The margarita's were really good. We decided to go see the shark reef at MB after dinner. We passed by Tropicana, & saw that they were filming an episode of WB's Angel in the courtyard. We saw the Sharks & lost some more money at MB. Thursday we slept in & had lunch at Excalibur's cafe. We went back to Luxor & spent the day gambling & shopping. We met my parents for dinner at America in NY, NY. We stopped at the Memorial & placed our FD shirt & patch on the wall, & took some pictures. After dinner we had front row tickets for Blue Man Group. The show was great!!! Worth every Penny. We decided to loose the rest of our money after the show, but to my surprise on my last $5 I hit for $100, so we went upstairs to pack. I'll spend it next trip. Friday morning we woke up, got to the airport & had an uneventful day flying back to NY.

Thanks to everyone's help & ideas here, we had an excellent trip. We will be back in January!!!!!

Nice trip report, Miffylynx! Sounds like my kind of trip - gambling, shopping, eating good food! And isn't it always nice to win a little on your last day? I'm like you; I put it away for the next trip!

Nice report, Miffylynx..sounds like you had a lot of fun!

I have a question about Southwest..and you're the first person I've seen who mentioned the seat rule. Did the ticket agent size y'all up and down or anything? Were they happy to provide seatbelt extenders once you were on board? I'm just curious as to how they're handling all this now.. thanks for your input!

I have to say we were really worried about Southwest. We had extra money put aside to buy extra tickets. So now we can come back again sooner with the money we saved. We are both big people, but we travel all the time & know we fit in the seats, but we were waiting for a problem. On USAir we always need an extender, but on this Southwest flight we didn't need them! I guess the seatbelts are bigger. To tell you the truth, I would fly SWA again. It didn't feel like they were even paying attention to our size, but I'm sure they were.
