  1. Day 1 June 17
This trip was me and my husband and my sister and her husband. We were up at 430am to catch a southwest flight from Tulsa at 7. Flight was uneventful. We did fly over the Grand Canyon which was really nice since my sister had not seen it before. We arrived in Vegas at about 830am. Headed straight for baggage claim and then on to the hotel. We stayed 2 nights at Treasure Island and 2 nights at Bellagio (wager works). We decided to try to check in, but were told rooms were not available yet and to try back at about 1030. So, we checked our bags with the bell desk and headed off to the Mirage for the buffet. (wager works) We picked up our comp slips at the slot club desk and then headed to the buffet. I thought the buffet was pretty good. Especially since it was free. There was a wide variety of food to chose from. The drink service was somewhat slow, but over all it was pretty good.

We went back to TI to try to check in again, and the girl said to try back at 11am. The lobby at this hotel smells great. There is a huge arrangement of fresh flowers as soon as you walk in the door. We decided to walk around and check out the hotel/casino. When we finally got to our rooms, it was great! The room looked exactly like the picture on the website. I would stay here again with no hesitations. Called the bell desk to have our bags brought up which took about 5 minutes. After we got setteled in our room, we decided to go see the sights.

We had purchased 30 day bus passes to use for our trip. They were purchased before they went on strike. Over all the bus service was slow. A few times we waited about 30 minutes for a bus and they were usually very crowded. This would not prevent me from taking the bus on my next trip though. I still think it is the easiest way to get around. Early mornings and late at night the bus was practically empty.

We headed up to MB, Luxor, Excalibur, and then NYNY. Tried the electric horse racing at Excalibur since we saw so much about it on the board. I see why you all like it. [IMG] It is really fun to see all the people standing at the table yelling for their horses to come in.
For dinner we ate at ESPN Zone in NYNY. For my brother-in-law this was on his must do list. I was not very jazzed about it until we got there. We ate at 430pm and got to sit in the recliners. If you eat here, then sit in the recliners if possible. In front of you is a huge wall of televisions. You can change the sound in your recliner to listen to one of 15 different TVs-all with ESPN of course. My dinner was execllent!! I had penne pasta with chicken in a light lemmon butter garlic sauce. [IMG] The prices are about $15 for entree and drink and can go up to $30 for your entree. The only thing that would have made this exprience better was to be watching an NFL game. We also rode the roller coaster at NYNY. (wager works-see a trend here?) We picked up our comp slips and then went through the comp line. We got to cut in front of a HUGE line of people. The roller coaster was really great. I don't think I would have paid $10 for it, but it was good. I was suprised at how rough it was for a metal coaster. I had bruises on the tops of my shoulders from banging into the restraints. If you ride, be sure to get the front seat. I was in the second seat and could not see anything. We finally headed back to the hotel at about 730p. My sister and I decided to go for a relaxing dip in the pool. We were told by the attendant it closed at 8. The pool was very small and crowded. Kids running everywhere and parents sitting in their chairs looking miserable, wishing they were in the casino. After swimming we got some ice cream from Ben & Jerry's-chunky monkey is the best!!! Then decided to call it a night.

    More to come...
