I am revisiting my original plan of running $500 through $5 VP JOB or BP machine.

Now I am leaning towards doing the $25/spin on a multi-line BP VP machine and not JOB.

    Any opinions? Which would you play? 20 lines @ $0.25 or 10@ $0.50, or even 5 @ $1?

I did a quick search on VPFree2 and it looks like Cosmo and Trop are the only casinos at the $0.25 level on the strip. I prefer a CET or MLife casino. But CET VP tables suck unless you are playing $5 machines!

Different game/option. There is a $0.25 3 play triple spin poker BP game at Bellagio. Read a little bit about spin poker off google. Says if you play 9 lines, it will cost $11.25/spin. Can I do 1 play (9 lines) or do I have to 3 play and 27 lines? Is spin poker a better option than regular VP?

Let me try off the top of my head (dangerous).

Your odds of winning are the same if the paytables are the same. I will assume that for a second.

But, if you are playing multi line, your risk of ruin is less since it is spread out.

Look at it this way. Say you have $100.

Option A is one play on a $100 machine. If you hit nothing, you are done.

Option B is 20 plays on a $5 machine. Odds of all 20 hands being zip are considerably less. Might be small wins, but it will keep you in the game.

Option C is 100 plays on a $1 machine. You are surely going to hit on some of those.

Option A has a high risk of ruin - done - no more play. Go home.

    MGM has $1 50-play.

I'm being a bit nit picky here. The total return is the same, but the odds of winning after running the same amount of coin through are actually different because of the reasons you noted when explaining the risk difference.

I would suggest the $5 machines as any 4OAK will give you over 2x your money back. A good one will be much bigger. I would think second about the 1$ machines. All single line. As the OP says, at 1$ you have allot more chances. My experience on the multi line is just a fast trip to ruin. My two cents.

I would opt for a lower denom, more lines.

I would probably opt for single line dollars way over single line $5. $500 buys you 20 hands worth on a $5 machine. I can't tell you the number of times I've hit 10 or 15 hands in a row of nothing. It happens. If you hit a streak like that on $5, you're finished.

Triple spin poker you can set any combination of games played and the number of lines on each game played if you use the touch screen. The return and strategy is the same as standard VP.

As for single vs multiline, I would play single line if your goal is mostly to either "win or bust". Multiline games with the same total wager will typically make you last longer.

Thanks for the replies. I'm normally a $0.25 vp player. I just want to run $500 playing at a higher level just for fun. Obviously I want to win but If I lose it all no big deal. I will stop I think if I double or triple up.

I'm leaning towards the Bellagio $0.25 triple spin bp Costing $11.25/deal. Or maybe $1 BP 5 lines at mlife or cet casino.

Cosmo has 50c 100 play 9/6 JoB and 25c 8/5 BP in HL room and PH has a 25c 100 play 9/5 JoB in the HL room

Cosmo is $25 min/hand though. Probably out of OP comfort zone.

Normally yes $25/hand is out of my zone. I'm a $0.25 VP player.

But I just want to run $500 through for shits and giggles and willing to do up to $25/hand.

The disqualifier for Cosmo is because I'd prefer a CET or MLife casino, where I normally get my "free" rooms. But then again, I might get a teaser from Cosmo if I do it there. But I highly doubt it.

Then the 9/5 JoB machines in PH are likely your best choice if you're trying to play low varience

PH also has JoB DSTP 10 play @ $1 level which playing all hands cost $70/spin but the 20x Royal Unicorn pays $800k. Don't think you have to play all hands either so it's something to consider.

I am with Flusher on this one (based on experience also). The multi line, lower denomination will allow you to "cycle" more coins through as you are hitting small payouts along the way that keep you going. On the higher denomination machines, you are banking on hitting quads early in the session to keep you going, but if they don't show up, your plan goes in the shitter! And, speaking from experience (ask flusher also), you can sometimes go a very long time without hitting quads.

Another alternative you may want to consider is playing something like multi line Ultimate X (10 coins per line), or Super times (6 coins per line) or double super times (7 coins per line). Those will give you more coin in faster, and also give you the opportunity to hit a big payout with the multipliers.

Yeah you can play as little as one line via the touch screen and still activate the Double STP bet by betting $7. 9/5 JoB with DSTP (98.95%) is the best game on the strip that earns full points at CET.

Planet Hollywood still has it in the high limit room, iirc. Other CET properties have downgraded the game.

Have some good beer for me! ;)
