Going to Vegas at the end of the month. I am staying at Mandalay Bay. Who has the best 5 dollar minimum for craps on the strip? My wife is wanting to learn and I don't wanna sit and teach on a 15 dollar table. Going Sunday through Tuesday so I'm hoping it won't be to hard to find during the week. I know MGM had it early in the morning. Like 9 ish. Anyone know of anywhere else on the strip decent?
    Thanks!

Depends on what you mean by "decent". I'm all but certain that Excalibur, and probably Luxor as well, will have $5 tables. Those have the added benefit of being easily accessible from Mandalay Bay. Mandalay itself should have $10 tables at least into the afternoon, though I haven't been there in a couple trips and don't know when/if they start moving up to $15.

Yeah I'm not a fan of Excalibur. I think if were early enough MGM might have them. If not we will just keep walking down the strip to Harrah's or something.

A times, I have also seen $5 tables at Hooters, Cosmo, PHo, Ballys, Monte Carlo, NYNY, and Paris, as well as the properties already mentioned. You may also want to look into one of those craps sessions lessons for your wife. Don't know if they have those at Mandalay Bay, but I have seen signs for it recently at NYNY and Monte Carlo.

Monte Carlo has craps lessons daily at 1100. Pretty crowded, but the host made certain to address everyone's questions. Good luck!

Harrah's and Bally's usually do. I played at both during late afternoon on a weekday last week.

Also, if you're going to teach the game, does it have to be a live table? Plenty of "shoot to win" community craps machines around the strip. Minimums start at $2.

Went down to South Point on Friday for a race, decided to check out the craps, figuring it would be cheaper....$5 minimum with 2x odds MAX across everything

    2x max odds, period

I was bored after a bit of that.

but is usually crowded and not a place for a newbie trying to learn the game IMHO. Pace of play is probably too confusing for a newbie.

Flamingo usually has $5 tables during the day but may be a little crowded. I would suggest going to Magaritaville (in the flamingo) during the day, they have 1 table, usually $5 minimum unless busy and isn't as busy as the other tables most of the time.

If you're going Sunday through Thursday, it should not be too hard.

Luxor, Excalibur, NYNY, MC, Harrah's, Linq, Flamingo, Bally's, MAYBE Paris, Circus Circus, I've been to MB, but can't remember if they have $5 tables. Being where you are on the strip, I would say you're 100% safe with Excalibur.

Also, someone on here said Casino Royale always has $5 craps and 100x backup, they changed the odds to x20 on that $5. Also, I really don't recommend playing at Casino Royale.

    1) They are not MLife or CET card holder, you won't get points.
    2) It's no fun.

If you're willing to pony up and play $10, go to the Mirage, they have really fun tables.

Thanks for all the input guys. It seems like I won't have an issue. We will probably walk the strip and throw 100 or 200 down in each casino and hope for the best, lol. We usually don't gamble together. It seems like when I'm hot on the craps table and she comes up to "see how I'm doing" its an immediate crap out. Same for here when she's playing roulette. I'll go play my numbers for one round and I kill her numbers.

Just to add: I was in Vegas two months ago and on M-Th from about 2am-10am, Bally's/Paris each had one craps table open and the min. was $5.

No one has mentioned Tropicana yet and that's right by you. Should be $5 and not busy during the day.

The craps table at Margaritaville Casino in the Flamingo is usually $5 during weekdays (Mon - Thurs).

Luxor should have a $5 on those days in the morning. You won't even have to leave the building you are in. Just walk through the shops. Luxor's casino looks nicer in my opinion then Excalibur's.
