    My Trip Report

Leaving now! Trip is off to rough start. My friend was supposed to go and had a family emergency. They are at the hospital and hope to join us later.

We only go to Vegas once a year. Four of us had planned to go together this time. Only 2/4 of us are making the trip tonight. Hopefully the others will still be able to make it in a day or two.

Since my friend had booked the room at Flamingo using her TR card, they wouldn't let her change it to my name. Even though they had a major medical emergency they're still charging her for tonight and we can't stay in the room. How screwed up is that?

I called Harrah's and was able to book a room for under $100 tonight! I still can't believe it. It's Saturday and even the Fremont was $119. This will be my first stay at Harrah's. I'm an Orleans fan. I ended up booking with my TR card and have the next three nights comped in a carnaval room near the elevator. I have a comp room booked at Orleans tomorrow that I need to cancel now and a comp room at Gold Coast for the last 2 nights.

Our first flight left on time but there was no in flight service due to turbulence. I was glad I brought a drink with me. Pretty bad turbulence for the whole flight. It also smelled like someone peed their pants or the toilet got shook up a little too much. We had several pot smokers on board so it was pretty aromatic. Oregon is one huge pot farm these days! We are surrounded by 10 ft high fences made of black plastic everywhere and it smells like skunk for months during grow/harvest time. Arriving to Vegas a little more relaxed than usual.

Hopefully the connecting flight will be smoother. Killing time in PDX now. We'll arrive about 11 pm Pacific Time.

Gambling budget is $100 day. I'm a LOW roller and my friend may play $20-40 a day.

Will try to keep you posted as we go along. I love reading other's trip reports so I'll try my best to share a little of Vegas with you this week!

That blurry pic is of the Portland marina. Hundreds of boats in the slips on a rainy night.

Sometimes the bumpiest start turns into a really smooth landing.
Wishing you a fun and winning trip - nice thing about Harrahs is you are close to everything!

Have your friend try in person, I have heard (not from personal experience though) that hotels will forgive that kind of thing if you don't do it habitually.

Waiting for an update!! Good luck

Down $160 in slots at Harrah's right away. Tried wild cherries, double diamond and wicked winnings. Went by the roulette table on the way to the room and got it all back! I haven't found Cleopatra yet.

This slot machine is fun to play! Biggest jackpot was $25 with 6 spins though.https://vimeo.com/158798882

We used Lyft from the airport. Driver was really nice, car was super clean and he got us to Harrah's in 15 min. The charge hasn't appeared on my card yet though. I expected a receipt of some kind but haven't received anything yet.
