I'm in Vegas now, staying at The Venetian with the wife. I'm in the Army so my "bankroll" isn't High Roller status at all. Over worked and under paid is the motto for us. Anyway, we have only been to The Quad, Casino Royale, and Harrahs who have $5 bj. But they are all with 6/5 odds and with rules I haven't seen like free bet, bj switch, and another variating of the the game. Is that pretty much the only places offering $5 bj and with those types of games? We also walked to TI, The Mirrage, obviously The Venetian and they don't have $5.

    Thanks

Mirage will have 5 dollar tables, usually earlier in the day, and NYNY advertises that they have a 5 dollar table at all times. Every time I've seen it though, its been very busy. As far as tables to with better than 6/5 odds, I sincerely doubt you'll find that at any low denomination table, but I will defer that question to our blackjack aficionados.

Thanks for the reply. My wife's feet are getting torn up by her shoes so she doesn't feel like walking to NYNY tonight. We might check it out tomorrow or the next few days. I figured at the lower tables it wouldn't be 3/2 but it's whatever. I haven't seen baccarat though and I have been wanting to play that. Is that usually where all the other table games are at?

Damn! That's awesome. I will have to check that out sometime this weekend or monday/tuesday. Thanks for the heads up! Do they all have the running card shufflers? I hate those things.

If you're stuck on the strip, I'd try Excalibur-- from what I remember they have $5 games (or $10 at worst). Just about any place downtown will have a decent game of $5 BJ, I prefer the D.

    Hello,

Jump on a bus or take a cab downtown. Lots of $5 BJ with 3:2 odds. You could also take the free shuttle to Gold Coast from outside Bally's. Orleans also has $5 with 3:2. There is also the free shuttle from Harrah's to Sam's Town. More $5 at 3:2.
Don't get suckered into the 6:5 game.
    Good luck.:beer::beer:

Close to the strip, Tropicana has $5 3:2 tables during the day and sometimes at night too, though they change the minimums often, depending on how many players are currently seated. A real oddity.

As others have said, downtown there is an abundance.

The last $5 BJ I got was probably 20 years ago. Those days are long gone. Sorry.

Wizard of Vegas has a BJ chart which shows $5 3:2 BJ at Caesars. Not sure how current the chart is or when the game is offered. Several outlying casinos have it, too.

Thats from a trip report posted a few days ago

There is now $1 BJ 24/7 at Riviera. They also have $5 and $3 tables. Exciting!!! I always missed Sahara for this reason. I never got to play before they removed it.

I played on the $3 table because the $1 table was packed. Lost my $15 buy in because the lady dealer gave me six consecutive 4s!!! Grr lol.

    Thank you for your service.

You will find $5 in the mornings. Not all casinos grandfather, anymore, so that is something to look for.

There is plenty of $5 on Fremont. Many of the "just off" the Strip casinos will have it as well.

If you wait til really late at night or early in the morning, if some of the "working girls" haven't met their quota for the night they might give you one for $5.

But seriously, Monte Carlo is pretty consistent with a couple $5 3-2 tables in the mornings.

Early morning is a good time for a cheap game, and is also quite entertaining some days.

Try this: Go to Bally's and catch the Rio shuttle. Walk across the street to Gold Coast.
    $5 two deck 3:2, H17 with & DAS...or so I've read. I've never been there (yet) but I will be on 9/29!

If you want to stay near your hotel, try the Mirage & TI. They both used to have a $5 3:2 game, H17, DAS, LS & RSA...but it was a CSM. I don't mind 'em, but I know a lot of folks do.

Well, the wife and I have just been having fun at the $1 table at The Riveria. We sat for 6 hours yesterday playing and didn't lose a dime at the table. It's always fun just to play and even better when you didn't lose after that many hours. Circus Circus has one $3 table going at all times. Both the $1 and $3 tables usually have people waiting for someone to get up. Lots of $5 single deck games at Riveria but I hate that game, the dealer always seems to have two 10's no matter what.

    Thanks guys!

A lot of the time you could only find a $1 table at Sahara overnight...toward the end of the Sahara I think they only had $3 tables (one or two) with some flaky rules....one of which was something like Blackjack only pays 1:1 unless you're betting $5 or more...

The Riviera recently introduced a $1 live blackjack table. It’s important to note that this game is live and not a machine. Live blackjack dealt by humans is almost always more fun than a machine. You may find a blackjack machine game with $1 limits across the street at Slots a Fun now that they've removed all dealer games. The Riviera is now the only casino on the Vegas Strip with limits this low. The rules of this game only offer 6:5 pay when you get blackjack as opposed to the 3:2 payout you'd receive on a traditional game with good rules.

One dollar blackjack isn’t traditional and it's not geared towards experienced players looking for the best returns. It's just a way to attract new players to the Riv. Of course, we'd like a 3:2 payout on blackjack, but having a $1 blackjack game is like having training wheels on the table for a new gambler. This game is also a fun way to hang out and enjoy some drinks while only risking a few dollars at the table.

The last time we can remember seeing $1 blackjack on The Strip was at the beloved Sahara. Let’s just hope that the most neon-a-rific casino on the Strip doesn’t suffer the same fate as that one.

Do they pay in dimes? A $1 bet wins $1.20 for a blackjack.

No, if you hit a BJ with anything under $5 they give you even money. If you bet $5 and hit a BJ you get $6 back with 6/5 pay.
