4th of July is a Friday. Is the Strip crazy-busy the week leading up to 4th?

I can get away from June 30 to July 4. Any thoughts on if this is a very busy/crazy week on the Strip? Thanks.

I flew in the evening of the fourth last year. It was kind of surreal watching fireworks everywhere as we were landing. Things were definitely crowded, but it didn't seem exponentially more crowded.

I went to LV 3-4 years ago for the 4th. It was busy (not like fight night tho). However, the strip did not have fireworks. It was funny since people were lined up along the strip. I'm guessing it may have been a fire hazard. My friends and I watched the Bellagio fountains instead.

I have been there the last 2 years over July 4th. I didn't find the strip overly crowded. Last year it was BLAZING hot!!

Note that while there are lots of fireworks shows in the area, there is very little on the strip itself. I think Caesars Palace may be the only place left on the strip that has a July 4th fireworks show.

Thanks all. Specifically, I'm thinking of going June 30-July 4 (flying back home on July 4). I saw that I could get one comped night that week at Caesars (the only comp I've ever gotten for that property), so I wondered if that was an unusually slow week for some reason. Thanks.

We've been there three times in the week before July 4th and it is generally a quiet time.

Because the 4th is a Friday people will probably start arriving late on Thursday and then on the 4th itself with most going home on Sunday.

Went last year week of the 4th(stayed to the 6th...going back this year June 28-3rd of July. I found it typical of what Vegas usually is in the summer. Packed but not insane. Caesars is having a private fireworks show at the GOG pools..not sure if they can be seen on strip. I love going that week....then again not really any bad time to go to vegas that I've found!

I have been there the last couple of years through July 4 and it is crowded but not as bad as you think- if you do want to see fireworks, Caesars usually has them, and the way to avoid crowd is to watch them by the Bellagio entrance.

    Yes, It Will Be Crazy

Auggie is right. It is a 3 day weekend. It will be nuts. Just like Memorial Day and Labor Day. Californians will be pouring into town that Thursday.

If the 4'th falls in the middle of the week, then it is more mellow. Those posters noting that it has been "normal" in the past most likely were here when it was on a Tuesday or similar.

Fireworks on The Strip are not a fire hazard. Otherwise we would not have our world-famous New Years Eve fireworks:

Caesars has done fireworks a couple of times. Strat used to but not recently. LVA always has for years. For whatever reason, they are not announced until about a week out.

However, most of the displays around town are for locals and put on at various Station Casino locations or by the city/county.

Las Vegas is really missing the ball by failing to treat July 4 like New Years Eve, shutting The Strip and blowing off a million bucks in fireworks. It is 1/2 way to New Years Eve on the calendar and would really fill the town when it falls on a mid-week.

Everyone, thanks again for the feedback. I didn't know it was MMA week. I see the UF fights are on July 5 and July 6. I would be leaving town on July 4. Do lots of people show up in the week before the fights?

Regardless, I've been to Vegas a bunch of times and it always seems "equally" busy to me. I'm not sure why I'm even concerned with it now :) I guess that's part of the fun in planning a Vegas trip!

I don't think it'll be too bad. I'm not 100% but pretty sure A LOT of people come in for the weekend. Not usually a whole week. Probably be busy Fri-Sun, then it'll taper off.

You can also tell if you look at rates, the day before and after are usually dramatically less.

Last year I went the day after, and it had really cleared out.
