Played in the party pit @ Planet Hollywood on Sat night 4/12, $15 table. Also all weekend @ MGM on $15 tables (except for Sat night, they were $25 and up tables). Everything I played was hand shuffled, 6 deck games

PHo offered 3:2 in the "Party Pit"??? I've never heard of a Strip casino offering 3:2 in a "Party Pit".

Are you SURE it wasn't an 8-deck shoe at PH? I can't recall if they hand-shuffle or have a machine, but CET in Vegas hasn't had 6-deck shoes outside the HL rooms for quite a while.

Sometimes I even have to ask if it's 8-decks or 6-decks. I believe the thickness on some cards actually varies a bit, so it can be hard to tell just by looking at the stack.

It's not the Party-Pit per se (with the go-go dancers in your face), but there is a 4-table pit at PH that opens at 8PM that has the sexy dealers in their black and red bustiers. There are three shoe games and one 2-decker, usually $25, always 3:2 H17, surrender on the shoes, NDAS on the 2-decks. I always make a point of playing at that pit each trip. (Just outside of the HL room.)

Most of the time 3/2 isn't hard to find on the strip... unless you're at NYNY, The Mirage, Venetian/Palazzo, Casino Royale or the Quad.

could have been 8 decks, not sure.

I guess I don't know what the definition of the "party pit" is then, there were dancers in the pit and the dealers were dressed up like the dancers...always thought that pretty much constituted the party pit setup

Yes! You were in the right place. Now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure there ARE shoe games in the large Party Pit itself that pay right, and I've played at them several years ago. But this little 4-table pit that opens only at night with the sexy dealers is the one I'm thinking of and where I go to play.

This game at PH is probably the best party-pit blackjack. To see the worst BJ game on the planet, go to the PussyCat Dolls shoe game at Caesars. 8-decks, no surrender, 6:5, H17, NDAS, ONLY double on 10-11. 2.648% house edge on a game that should be about 0.500% or less. Yeouch!
