    My Trip Report

First report here so bear with me.

It's the wife and I, and a friend kev will be meeting us there.
    Flights
Left out of Houston 640 am Monday. Return flight 540 pm Friday. Nothing out of the norm with southwest, on time and just the usual irritations. More on that later.
Arrived, wife and i each put a $20 in a quarter reel while waiting for bags. After about 10 mins, I'm up thirty and wife up twenty. I say that will pay for cab so we cash out and head that way. hopped in cab to Nugget. Get rolling, look up, and you guessed it, we are headed thru the tunnel. I start in on the driver and he is telling me something in broken English about dispatch telling them what route to take to avoid traffic. I read out loud the sign on the back seat about it being illegal for drivers to take a route longer than necessary, but left it at that. $34 to nugget. I got his unit number and will report if for what good it will do.
Too early to check in, so we leave our number, check our bags and head to the slots. First slot we walk by is Willie wonka, I sit at it and after about 20 mins I'm up a couple hundred. Things are looking good, but not for long. We continue to roam around for a few hours playing here and there. Too many different slots to list by name. $.25, $1, and penny. Reels and video. A little of everything. After a few hours we get our call, head to desk and check in. Room 1111, gold tower. The pool and the plaza was about all we could see. We
unpacked and headed back down to walgreens for supplies. Water, snacks and hairbrush. I thought that was a standard for a woman's purse, but I guess not.

After dropping off supplies and figuring out we are down about a grand we decide to take a walk. We stroll down to the east end check out the slotzilla. Thought about heading to container park but decided to wait for kev to getthere, so we drop into el Cortez. I use the restroom and on my way out I spot a $.25 reel and slip a $100 into it. The quarters start falling out of it, and I slap myself in the head. It's not the first time I've done this. While feeding a few quarter back thru, I glance over and see Paul Rodriguez sitting at a penny slot. He didn't look like he wanted to be bothered so I just gave a nod and "what's up" and moved on. A few minutes later some guy comes up and let's me know George Lopez was there. I looked the entire floor of the casino and didn't see him lying there so I assume he mistook Paul for him.

It's now about time for kev to arrive, so we head back down towards the plaza, and meet up with him. I already had a few drinks in me and he wanted to catch up so we head to la bayou and get him a hurricane with an extra shot. His first time. I told him what I remembered about my first experience of four with the extra shot and told him he should probably stop at two. He didn't want to, but after two I got him to switch to beer.

The wife headed to bed early, so kev and i spend the rest of the night watching the stages and people around them this is my favorite thing about being downtown. I like the 80s cover band that played on the west end stage but they weren't there this trip for some reason. You meet people from all over the world drunk and partying. I talked to some dude from France. He told me his English wasn't very good, which it wasn't. I asked him what he did for a living, you know what kind of work do you do? He got a shit eating grin on his face and told me he was a cougar. I laughed and said, you mean a Gigolo? he said yea, yea.

Every time I went to the golden gate to use the rest room I would stop and put a nickel straight up on four numbers. I did this several times and only remember losing once. I never counted the chips in my pocket that night but I knew I was doing pretty good. It was getting pretty late and we were pretty drunk so we decided to call it a night. I headed to the nugget, played a few slots, then headed to the room, drank a pedialyte and went to bed.

This is getting longer than I thought it would be, so I will return with more later.

After getting to the room that night, I counted and had about two grand. Won back everything lost that day.

Woke around 8am dressed and headed down. Ran through a few hundred before wife joined me. We then proceeded to lose at double speed. Kev finally text that he was up and about, so we tracked him down. He wasn't feeling too hot, but he is a trooper and we headed down to check out container park. We hit the queens and the d on our way for a little while, but luck wasn't any better there.

Walked thru container park. Thought it was pretty cool, just not much to do unless your there to eat. So we headed back.stopped at Cortez and the grand on the way back to make our donations. First time in the grand, thought it was a nice place. Walked back to Fremont and binions. Still no wins. Took the wife up to see sigma derby. We didn't play but she got a kick out of it.we all decided to head to the room, get dressed for the night, and meet up later.

After resting a few mins and dressing for the evening we mixed a strong drink and headed down. We stayed in front of the nugget most of the night watching the Elvis show on the stage. The guy was pretty good. He told a lot of corny jokes, but he sounded pretty good when he sang. The drinks were going down good for everyone, especially the wife. We met a nice couple from Florida. I was trying my roulette bathroom trips that worked the night before. Didn't have nearly as much success. After returning from one of these trips I searched and couldn't find anyone. I walked the the west stage and finally found kev. I asked him if he knew where my wife was and he told me the last he saw her, she was with the hookers. Now I have a pretty good buzz by now, and my mind has trouble processing this. She was pretty drunk the last I saw her, she has a debit card if she needed money? She can text me and I have some cash? Is she that drunk she is planning a surprise for me? I was kinda speechless until kev told me that the couple that we were talking to earlier last name was hooker. Which gave me Relief and disappointment both at the same time. I headed to the room shortly after and the wife showed up an hour or so later. About 4am. She was feeling no pain and said she had been playing cards and recouped a few hundred of our losses for the day.

    More to come

Woke Wednesday morning around 8am, dressed and headed down. Wife didn't seem to be in too good of shape. Played a few slots, grabbed a couple of breakfast burritos and carried them to the room. We ate our breakfast and discussed what had happened on our adventures the night before. She said it didn't look like she was going to be moving anytime soon, so I left her watching tv and headed to find kev. He didn't seem too be feeling too hot either. Today was supposed to be a trip to the strip, but I could see that wasn't going to happen. Kev and I made the rounds thru 4 queens, binions, freemont, etc. Still no wins. Kev decided he needed to recharge so he headed to the room. I grabbed a couple of binions burgers and did the same.

Wife still wasn't feeling it so I headed back down solo again. Played in the nugget until the wife showed up downstairs around 7pm. Met back up with kev and walked Fremont a couple of hours, had a few drinks. We all decided to call it a night around 11 pm. The plan was to get up early, bring kev's bags to our room after he checked out and head to the strip until he had to catch his late flight.

Woke thurs and by the time we all got ready and met up it was around 11 am. Started heading to our room to drop kev's bags and he had a change of heart about going to the strip. So, we said our goodbyes and the wife and I hopped a cab to treasure island. we spent the day walking the strip. In and out of casinos from ti to NY NY. Across to trop and back to Venetian. We then took a cab back to nugget, dressed and went for a steak. Played for a while, then off to bed, around 1am.

Friday was check out day. We had a late flight so we headed to the belligao for lunch, played a while, the off to the airport.

    A few observations and gripes.
The bums and costumes didn't really seem to be that bothersome to me. There were a lot of them, but they just seem to stand there until someone approaches them. The timeshare people always get on my nerves for some reason. I am always rude to them, and I probably shouldn't be.

Hours and hours of slot play and neither of us had a hand pay. Nor did we see anyone get a hand pay. Had a few nice hits 4,6, $800, but nothing really big.

    Meals.
    1. Binions burgers.
    2. Burgers and breakfast burritos from nugget grill.
    3. Pizza from stand on east end of Fremont.
    4. tacos from stand on east end of fremont.
    5. Hash house breakfast. (Corned beef for me, breakfast platter for wife.)
    6. Belligao lunch buffet. (very good, but a little of a let down after the reviews I have read. Maybe because it was lunch and not dinner.)
    7. Vic and Anthony's (excellent. May sound funny, but they have the best salad I have ever had. Lol )

    One last thing.

I hate flying. Everything about it. TSA, waiting in lines, small seats, everything. A few things would make it so much more tolerable, but I'm sure I will never see them.
    1. If your bag is bigger than a backpack or large purse, check it. It gets so aggravating waiting to board or de board because everyone is trying to cram or pry bags out of the overhead that are clearly too large to be in there.

    2. Use the restroom before you get on the plane. In approx 50 flights I have never even seen the inside of an airplane restroom. I'm not saying I will never need one, but it is staggering the number of grown ass adults that have to bounce down the isle to the restroom 15 minutes afternthe plane has taken off.

    3. If you are wearing a backpack, take it off and carry it onto the plane. Wearing it down the narrow isle, then spinning like a ballerina and smacking everyone in the head with it may be funny enough for an episode of the three stooges, but in real life its rude.

Anyway, that's about all I have. My hats off to those that do make these reports so entertaining, especially the live ones.

    Thanks for reading.

Thanks for posting the entire report!

I can't agree with you more about the bathrooms. The only one I've ever seen was on a 7 hour flight after 4 drinks.
Our flight time to Vegas is ~3.5 hours. No bathrooms.

I agree that it is annoying when people bring excess carry-on baggage onto the plane. I typically fly American Airlines and they're incredibly liberal with the bag sizes that they allow people to carry on. Many people will have two fairly big suitcases and a personal bag or purse that they try to carry on. It's kinda getting insane...

Spirit Airlines is the only airline that has the answer to this problem. Charge for carry-ons. I personally never carry anything on, so I secretly love this fee. It drastically cuts down on what people bring aboard which speeds up the embarking and debarking processes.

Great report and thanks for sharing!

This was a great report, thanks for sharing. That hookers line was great. Your wife should have chugged some of that pedialyte. That would have gotten her moving faster.
