    My Trip Report

    Hi All,

Quick notes and a little brag from my recent trip.

Long Flight from New Zealand Via Australia AKL - BNE - LAX - LAS 32 hours door to hotel. Long but the different in price of flights at the time paid for my accommodation for the 11 nights at Four queens. I have done this flight twice in 11 months. Next time i pay the extra for more direct flight.

As above stayed at the four Queens mainly due to the price. Room was very basic but did the job and i would stay here again. My dad also decided to join me from the UK at the last moment and he stayed in Tropicana for 7 nights. So i also booked additional one night at excalibur which was cheap and close (hooters was cheaper but never staying there again) and one free night in New York New York courtesy of MyVegas. This gave me three days on the main strip and the rest of the time my dad could come to downtown. New York room was very very nice and very big. Excalibur was also nice and a step up on four queens.

I caught one taxi and that was from the airport to four queens. Airport was very busy and after a long travel day i did not want to deal with being last drop off in a shuttle. I remember giving the guy $55 incl tip. I can not remember what the meter said but it felt a little pricey. The rest of the time i caught the WAX. This was perfect for getting between the four queens and tropicana hotel. Only $2 one way and hourly. i even used this bus back to the airport when i left easy way to save money. i caught the duece once from Planet Hollywood to downtown about 2 in the morning and this felt very slow.

Gamboling was kind to me this trip. i hit below royal flush for my first hand pay. 30% tax does sting and from what i read i can not claim back but still a great win. i dont normally play this game but it was 3am and the cocktail waitresses were slow in four queens with the drinks so i sat at a bar to get better service. iplayed for around 45 mins put USD200 in before i hit 3 x 4 of kinds quickly to boast me back ahead and boom royal flush hit. i arrived with USD3600 to the USA. USD300 for food and gamboling each day budget and left with USD5000 so a free 11 nights plus my airfares and accommodation paid for.

i love the freebet black jack in the Aria Casino. i had a few great split pairs and free doubles. the only type of blackjack when you can bet $20 and win $100 in one hand to put you back up. i played several sessions and was ahead each time. The two deck $5 blackjack in Mainstreet station where you pick up the cards is great fun as well and was profitable each time i played along with very good drink service. Blackjack else where was an expensive habit. it basically went if i play $5 i was a GOD at the table and as soon as i played $10 or more the table just turned on the vacuum to suck up all my chips.

i finished ahead on craps for the trip. i enjoyed both the bubble one and real life. One great run of rolls on the four queens $10 dollar table saw me buy in for USD200. down to my last 20 and run that up to USD700.00

Roulette was very kind. i don't play this normally but it is my dads game so we played in MSS. I started with 100 and walked away with 700. My two numbers i was focusing on kept hitting and i was being pay 204 each time the main numbers hit.

3 card poker was a disaster the one time i played as was baccarat. somebody did hit the royal flush in 4 queens when i was there on 3 card poker for about 14k so good hit for him.

Poker - Played a tournament in golden nugget 65 and came 3rd to get 280 ish and took about 4 hours. i played the Aria 1pm 125 tornament and came 16th. top 9 paid so no money but great tournament to play in. It amazes me they give you free drinks when playing in the tournaments.

Machines - Not normally what i play as i tend to find them boring but i played a lot of them this trip. Flintstones was very kind to me with one yabado feature on max bet paying over USD1050.00. the lady playing next door to me was not impressed. overall i was a loser on the machines but for some reason i ran really well and played max bet all the time and managed to put usd100 in a machine and it would last a few hours of fun jumping onto all the machines before one would suck it all up. Wheel of fortune was a good one and so was the fishing one. Quick hits playing $6 a spin in New York was not kind. It sucked about USD500 from the flint stones from me and when i did hit a feature it payed USD32. At $6 a spin this was a low blow i thought.

eating. Breakfast at the cafe in Binnions most days. Fast cheap and nice enough. Tony Romas was average and very busy. triple george grill by the mob museum was a+. We sat outside on Halloween night and watched all the dressed up people walk by. Great fun and brilliant service and food. i had the pork chop one night and fillet minion another night. Lovely fresh baked bread as well. Gordon ramsey steak was our big treat dinner. Great food service was a little robot like as all the same lines they did last time and they sort of rush and speak very quickly to get through the sales pitch. USD285 including tip and drinks for 2 of us. I had a few really nice cocktails. MGM buffet via MyVegas very bland. i dont really eat seafood all though people pilled the crab legs on their plates bit everything else just seemed boring. would have been disappointed if i paid. Breakfast buffet at Tropicana was nice all though one day the bottom of the glass the server was giving me my orange juice in just fell out as he passed me the drink and they seemed more bothered about the juice on the floor and cleaning this up then the other half that was on my lap.

shopping - went to the north outlet. Not a big shopper normally but purchased a few pairs of shoes and shorts and tee shirts and people in NZ who shop more are saying i got most for half price for what they normally sell for so can not complain

Only show we watched was Illusions at the Tropicana which i would give an A rating to. A lot of energy and some great tricks.

Pin Ball hall of fame was a lot of fun and went here a couple of times on the bus. Some great machines and cheap fun. Must get very hot in summer inside?

Overall a free trip as above so that was a big bonus and my first handpay. Weather was good, food was good, company was good and vegas was good. Twice in 11 months probably is enough for the next few years but it does seem like a great place to meet up with my dad from the UK and in the middle for both of us so you never know.

    Thanks
