I was at Mohegan Sun the other week and saw machines where you could play 25 credits (not hands) on one hand. I have never seen that. The only choice I'm use to having at a video poker machine is 1-5 credits. Does anyone know more about these machines and what benefits, if any there are to playing 25 credits?

I've seen machines in bars that allow you to play up to 100 credits. I think the largest I've seen in casinos could be 10. Personally, I hate anything besides 5 as I usually sit down and start playing max bet. If I lose that first hand, it can be a hit to the bankroll at a much larger than expected bet.

Agreed which is what happened to me. But when you played 25 credits the paytable changed and it looked like the Royal paid more. Just wondering if that skews the odds at all.

I ran into one of those machines at Rio in Oct. It was a nickel machine and the more coins you played the higher the pay tables got if I remember rightly. I do have a foggy memory of playing it at something like 15 coins a hand (it was a 3 hand machine).

It was hitting 4OAK like crazy and when I finally cashed out a few hours later I was up a good $800.

Peppermill in Reno has some like that...they're just 25-coin variant (ie: if you're playing 25c, you can in effect play 1.25 denom)
No different than 5 or 10 coin machines...

All the casinos in my area are 10 coins are max bet in video poker... I actually never saw 5 coins as max bet until I went to Las Vegas
