Hopefully other hotels follows as well. Yeah it dont make sense when some hotels checks you in at 5pm and you gotta check out at 11am?!

Great idea for people that have late flights home and actually book another night just to have the room to get ready in.I know I have done it once for a red-eye...
Also makes the resort fee a little bit more tolerable imo..

i would like it with hotels but having worked in the hotel business for a year previously i can say at most hotels that would just be a nightmare. At bigger hotels who are not full it would be ok, but i would be quite upset if i booked a hotel, got there and told i would not be able to check in until 10pm because the pp is there till 8.

It probably wouldn't work in other cities where the majority of hotel visitors probably keep "normal" hours, but with Las Vegas it would make more sense plus they have a lot of late flights arriving, especially from 8:30PM to 10PM

Plus it would be more "fair" to people that arrive later: you could have three people that stay the night at a hotel where one arrives at 1PM and checks in, another arrives at 6PM and the third not until 11PM... the first person gets his room for 22 hours, the second for 17 hours and the third for 12 hours yet they all end up paying the same rate.

    But a question might be:
If you arrived in Las Vegas at 11AM and you knew pretty much 100% chance you would be able to get an early check-in, would you go and check-in right away?
Or would you do something like check your bags with the bell desk and then wait to check-in so you can get a later check out time?
And if you would wait, how late would you wait until?
(and that is assuming you had a later flight home or you were switching hotels in the middle of the trip. Obviously if you have a 9AM flight home at the end of the trip getting a 7PM check out that day would mean nothing)

Unless The Palms has a very low occupancy rate typically, I don't think this is going to last too long...this idea is going to cause a real problem in getting rooms cleaned and even having a room for someone to check into at 3PM.

We'll see how it goes. Great idea for the customer, but a logistical nightmare for the hotel. I would guess that Hyatt allowing late checkout for the upper levels of Gold Passport causes problems for the hotels and doesn't happen all that often -- ie, just a handful of rooms every night. But it was great on a stay last year to check-out at something like 2PM when I had an afternoon flight out of town.

Nice idea. I hope it catches on. I wonder how it works if you stay three days. Does the check out revert to the standard or is it all computed on the time of check in? I'm assuming it is good on longer stays as well. I can see it solving a major frustration for Vegas visitors, especially folks who have relatively short trips. Thanks for the link.

this is an idea I had tossed out here in the past I think it works very well for the Vegas market and I think if done properly will really cut down on the checkin/out backlog

and if done right I think will be a nice niche for a property

It's sort of like a Rental Car policy.
I always arrive in Vegas about 2 pm and also would like to check out at 2 pm. But i think it would me a nightmare for CET and Milife hotels. If you arrive in Vegas at 8 am, how many rooms will be available at that time?
Also, If you arrive in Vegas at 10 pm, won't there be a limited amount of rooms available if any?
Perhaps i'm wrong since i have set times in/out and don't have to worry about flight schedules, but i don't see it happening on the Strip.
Palms can do it because it's just one hotel off Strip, not a conglomeration of multiple properties on the Strip.
