Yes I was really pissed off with them for not letting me in with my priority pass, and no other lounge accepted PP in South terminal. Going from Manchester next time.

I am flying from Manchester in October and when I looked for lounge passes weeks and weeks ago they were all sold out for terminal 2 which is where Virgin flies to Vegas from. :(

Day 5: Pai Gow Poker: A change in luck??

Awake about 7am so headed over to Pub at Monte Carlo for breakfast. It was decent enough I had two pancakes too big to eat and the better half a bacon and egg sandwich - did the job.

There were people queuing for the NFL at 7am - I think they do a buffet for the NFL - the queue was mostly Seahawks fans and my arbitrary poll seemed that the Seahawks seemed the most represented today (lots of people from Seattle or glory hunting?)....

Chilled and watched a bit of NFL and then headed out for a wander - a bit peckish and tried the chicken tenders from the food court at Monte Carlo - cooked fresh and really good for a quick snack - thanks whoever recommended these!!

Other than poker the gambling has not really been going well so I decided to mix it up with Pai Gow poker (which I had never played live before).

Was a great sociable game with cool dealers at Aria - in fact I played two sessions on Sunday/Early Monday probably 6 hours plus total and at last locked in a small daily win $400ish I think.

Was playing the fortune bet (I know......but it's fun) and got 4aces (3 and a joker) for $125 - the case ace was 1 away with the guy next to me - that would have been a big pay day!!

In addition to the above we had a couple of drinks at Alibi and wandered down to NYNY to have a couple of drinks outside at the Irish Bar - a good spot to people watch and there was a live singer.

Evening meal was a toss up between Blossom and Lemongrass - the Girlfriend chose Lemongrass - it's always good, having been twice last visit.

Stand out dish was garlic shrimp (could have been black pepper shrimp) - it was all good, quick service and relaxed atmosphere.

Some pictures below - I will ask the girlfriend too add some too.

I did mange a quick picture of the pot stickers at lemongrass - note one was already hoovered up by the Girlfriend!!

Been down for a coffee and video poker today already. Plan is to head to Mandalay Bay, some gamble and a burger and then the Atomic Testing Museum.

No real plans for the evening - may teach the girlfriend Pai Gow Poker ;)

    Day 6: change in logistics

Headed down to Mandalay Bay to look around and a bit of a gamble - casino was ok - bigger than expected but a bit smokey

The GF managed to parlay up - me, not so much.

Was recommended Burger Bar by a friend/client so thought we would try it - glad we did.

Good beer menu, GF had a alcoholic shake - below

The burgers were awesome - beats Holstein and Ramsay for me. I had a build your own Kobe burger - GF American Classic, would recommend this place!!

We then planned to go to the atomic testing museum but realising we were now pretty much in the Luxor we decided to hit up the exhibitions there.

After a gambol - nothing of note, other than the 25c VP progressive was a $1715 which I thought was high but the bar man said often went much higher!

Two tickets to both Bodies and Titanic were $90 which is good value for me. We did the bodies exhibition first - really interesting. More so for me looking up the various injuries/operations I have had from sporting injuries - we were not allowed to take pictures but again would recommend.

We decided then to walk back and casino hop to Aria, via Excalibur, NYNY and Monte Carlo. No big hits but was good to have a look around - although walked over 13k yesterday.

Decided to go back to the room and watch some NFL before freshening up for the evening.

Wandered over to Cosmo - had a few drinks at Bond Bar - luckily less to drink than the lady next to me who was sick on the Bartop!?!

Also stopped via lucky cat for some run good!

GF wanted to go to China Pablino - Mexican China fusion didn't sound great to me but was pleasantly surprised!

The dishes were not a mixture of the two (which I assumed fusion to mean) but rather a menu where you could choose items of Mexican or Chinese influence - in a tapas style.

The food was great, Mongolian beef with romaine lettuce stood out for me - but it was all fantastic and served grazing style which we like.

GF said the salt air margarita was very good also.

Wandered back to aria for some gambling which went well thanks to lucky cat - came close to the dollar royal and hit a few 4oaks

Not sure on the plan yet today - still got atomic testing museum and titanic tickets to use but still another 8 days in Vegas!!!

Pai Gow Poker is actually my favorite table game (it's like playing real poker except you don't have to think or pay attention).

Glad you won some bucks on it! If you're still around this weekend we should find a table (apparently there's one at PH with the dancing dealer)

I never do either. Way easier to do a long poker session at my local where there isn't so much other stuff going on.

Just hit this at the aria sports bar. Not a bad start to the day. Maybe time for a little shopping trip now :)

Glad you enjoyed the Original Chicken Tender. Flusher and I had touted that as of late.

Yeah, $1715 is probably just above average. When I played it last month, it was $1451...meh The meter is 0.9%, so if everyone max bet, average would be about $1450, but short coiners help balloon the progressive too. I doubt it will ever get higher than what I saw in Sept. 2014. I couldn't get on the machine that day, but I played it at $2660 40 hours earlier. The man with the blurred face is the lucky SOB who hit it, $4810 and change...game was over 107% return at the time.

Nice hit! And gotta take it! Better than stepping down from quarters to multi-line pennies...:vomit:

    Keep the wins coming!
