    My Trip Report

Evening.....it's that time of the year when we leave the worlds greatest city, London, and travel to a very close second, Las Vegas!!

This will not be a live trip report but rather a day by day summary - similar to my report last year (I can't work out how to link the last trip report on tapatalk) but hopefully with more pictures this year!

    What to expect:
    - first three nights comped at Ceasers
    - rest of the trip at Aria (part upfront comp, hopefully the rest backend)
    - poker, video poker and craps
    - test my new skills at BJ
    - some decent eats inc Delmonicco, Mesa Grill and others
    - catching up with an ex work colleague for opening game of rugby World Cup
    - atomic testing museum and titanic display
    - possible bottle service - undecided ....
    - opening NFL fixtures inc Lagasses Stadium for first game on Thursday
    - VMB craps session at Planet Hollywood
    - a trip or two downtown

Departure is tomorrow AM from Gatwick - it's a long flight.......

In honour of a recent trip report I followed on here - some watch porn:

Myself and my better half will update throughout the trip - hopefully you all enjoy following along - I have got a lot of pleasure reading recent trip reports - this is my little thank you!!

Have a great trip! I have a Bentley Breitling also but in stainless steel. Love the weight of the watch.

    Day One: AM - it's not 2016....

Arrived at Gatwick - check in etc with Virgin Atlantic is slick and through security etc in 15 minutes (maybe less).

Got my contact at Aria a gift - she really looked after us last trip - not sure she is a fully fledged host but comped a lot off for us!

Now taking advantage of free beer and a bacon sandwich in the lounge

Thanks for the good wishes - next stop Vegas!!

Is that the #1 lounge? been in it a few times through LGW, but last few times it was packed, they sometimes let too many people in.

Scottydoog: yes it was - the south terminal is a bit of a nightmare for lounges at the moment.

One is closed for renovation so all traffic is via this lounge - they were only taking people who had pre booked yesterday - which got a lot of complaints from card holders

Day 1 PM: What did I do to upset the video poker gods?

The flight over was great, the service from Virgin was really good (note: last year it was pretty poor and we were considering changing to BA had this flight been poor again - also influenced by the plane not caching fire!)

Top tip: purchased some good value noise cancelled headphones £30 quid off amazon - as they were not a brand (such as Bose) I was sceptical - but - they were excellent, did a great job and allowed us to get get a bit of sleep on the plane. I will ask the girlfriend to post details if anyone is interested?

Passport and boarder control been improved with automatic kiosks - only took us 10 minutes!!!

Had a great taxi driver and $20 and a bit later (plus a good tip as no tunnel with no prompting) we arrive at ceasers!

Check in took almost as long as the flight!!! Not all of this was the hotel's fault as it appeared one couple were entertaining the poor check in guy with their life story as part of the process - they were there when we arrived and still there when we left!

Got an upgrade to a Pool View in Octavius tower - some pics below

Impressed with the room and will be a good base for the first few days!

Had a refresh and decided to have a wander and some video poker - I tend to stay away from the tables and poker when really tired on the first night.

We like bar top video poker - I know we are giving away some EV in lower tables but it's a cost of entertainment and better drink service for me.

Played a bit at ceasers - hit nothing and then decided on a bit of food - girlfriend wanted to go to serendipity 3 - that's pretty inoffensive so I happily agree.

Split some chicken tenders and had a burger each and drinks. Me a couple of Fat Tyre's and the girlfriend some coloured cocktail with what appeared to have more fruit than liquid). Beer was good food solid - paid for in reward credits so 'free' - yay!

We then had a wander to some of the CET gaffs across the road Cromwell, Flamingo etc. Got killed at VP - only 1 quad which allowed me to move to 50c but then nothing.

Never played at Flamingo before but enjoyed the VP bar in the front centre - barman was really friendly and had a good chat and had a few Happy Camper IPA's - which went down well.

So, after being killed at VP and being awake for over 24 hours (less a small kip on the plane) we head back so we can hit the ground running tomorrow - love Vegas at night

    Plan for today includes:
    - breakfast at mon ami gabi
    - good poker session for me
    - lagasses stadium for the opening NFL game

I have asked my girlfriend (also on VMB) to add her thoughts and pictures to the thread - may give another perspective)

I think Katmu asked the reasons people do trip reports - for us it's to remember the trip after the event (reading the last one brings back lots of memories) which is a pretty selfish reason - so I hope some of you guys enjoy following along as well!!

    To be continued

Glad to hear that it only took 10 minutes to get through border control. It took us about an hour last time. How do the automatic kiosks work? Still have to do the fingerprints?

Hello Vegas addict - yeah they still do a finger print scan but if you have an esta and modern passport you can rock through quickly.

At lagasses stadium for the game - lost a bundle but having fun :)

That's good. The flight I'm on lands just after the Gatwick one so I was dreading the queues. Hoping I speed through there like you did. Enjoy your trip!

Following along. I'll be curious to hear your review of Mon Ami Gabi. I'm thinking maybe I should finally try it this trip.

I'm counting down the days until I'm there myself!

Mon ami is awesome kat. I have one here locally and visit often. You will not be disappointed. I believe it's part of a chain and the corp is called "lettuce entertain you". I love the corp name lol

Just looked them up and they own the Eiffel tower restaurant, maggianos, joes stone crab and a bunch of places we have all heard of. I've actually enjoyed a lot of these places.
