    My Trip Report

I really need to start posting some trip reports, considering I was in Vegas 12 times this year and this is my first one. Ok here goes:
Harrah's sent my "roommate" (a.k.a. ex) and I each free rooms for the weekend including entry in to their "Set For Life" promotion. We decided that we probably wouldn't walk away "Set For Life" but we wanted the free rooms. Plus, Harrahs is probably the last hotel on the Strip that I haven't stayed. We usually do not have an itinerary because our trips ar 3 or 4 days long and we have room to play around with our agenda but this time it was 2 days, in and out. I, of course, contacted my fellow moderator VegasHost (now known as Bill) so we could meet up for a drink or five. We arranged to go to Tangerine on Friday night. The girls I was with decided that they wanted to take a little nap before we went out so I went and did what I do best, gamble. After dropping a fair amount I went upstairs and got ready. I then woke up the girls who said they were going to get ready. Yeah right. Turns out they decided to go back to sleep so Tangerine seemed just a distant hope at this point. Bill informed me that Pattiinontario was also there, and I really wanted to meet up with some people from the board. Needless, to say, I was pissed. The girls were apologetic, but when you are half asleep, everything you say sounds like an apology.I should have gone alone but I wasnt feeling like it anymore because I hadn't been drinking (heavily) yet and my night was ruined so I wasnt in a good mood.
My ex and I ended up gambling the rest of the night and actually had fun together. I was way down and then hit 4 of a kind deuces on a Deuces VP, so that made me not loathe my girls anymore. I went to a not so comfortable bed 70 bucks richer with not too much attitude. All in all, a mediocre night all around.
We had to stay at Harrahs for abotu 4 hours the next day for the promotion, which included prizes like chocolates, money, a cruise and the all important "Set For Life" meaning 100,000 a year for life* (*life meaning 20 years). I think that is so funny, btw. We hung out near the Harrah's piano bar for about 3 and a half hours, as one drawing would be called every half hour and between the two of us, all we walked away with were our good looks, disappearing smiles, and a pretzel from the Carnaval Court.
We then had the brilliant idea to go play Bingo at Sams Town. I love to do this. My inner old man screams with delight as we approach the smoky, bright Bingo Parlor. Afetr the 4 of us (myself, my ex, my sister and my best friend) walked away with out good looks, diappearing smiles, and Bloody Mary's we decided it was time to eat and my favorite place to eat at Sams Town is Willy and Jose's. They have decent mexican food and you can almost always get a comp if you play just a little. After the fajitas I told the girls that we were going to get ready (there was no way these b**ches were going to fall asleep again). I told them to get the Red Bull mentality and speed it up as we were runnning a little behind and we were to meet up with Bill at Body English.
We finally arrived at the Hard Rock pretty much on time. I really had wanted to meet up with Bill ahead of time so we could chill and have a couple drinks but it didnt happen that way.
We walked right in to Body English with no problems (sidenote: Bill is the freaking man, I highly recommend that if you want to do Vegas nightlife right you get in touch with him). We immediately hit the bar to gain some liquid courage and then hit the dance floor an I was happy with the music (Hip Hop and Old School mixed with some current hits). All the while I was looking for "an asian guy with spiky hair in a black shirt and jeans" (Bill's description of himself. I finally found him after about 45 minutes, a Red Bull and Stoli, and 2 kamikaze
shots. He was very cool, reminds me of the people I hang out with. We danced for a while with the girls and he had to continue working. He was off and on with us most of the night and it was fun. I hope we will go out ahead of time next time, I'm sure we will.
We played at the Hard Rock for about 30 minutes before leaving. When we got back to Harrahs I decided taht I needed to play some poker. The girls went to bed (surprise) and I plyed for about an hour and lost. What is it with these morose people at the poker tables. I always end up bringing table morale higher and get people to stop taking themselves so seriously. Especially old people who like to complain....lol.
After rolling into bed at 5:30 am I fell right asleep.
We left Harrahs at about 1pm and started our journey back to L.A. complete with a quick stop in Primm so I could get a couple masks at the outlets (cool little store called Earthbound Trading Co. that has cool gifts at decent prices) and massages in the middle of the mall.
Here are the things I have learned this trip:
    1. Sleepy women are not fun regardless of how good looking they are
    2. Harrahs tables all start at 15 bucks and the only place close with lower minimums is Casino Royale.
    3. "Set For Life" was a set up. Worth it for the rooms but not the free tote bags(which I gave away to a woman who was a little too excited to receieve them)
    4. Bill is a cool guy and we will definitely hang out again. (oh, he also knows what he is doing)
    5. Bingo is fun.
    6. If it's just you and you want to do something, do it.
    7. I need at least 3 nights in Vegas
    8. I will be back superbowl weekend for sure (and in all likeliness before) so let's meet up.
Have a great day everyone.....I'm going back to bed.
    Pauly

Nice report Paul! You're way overdue though!!! 12 trips and you've only written this one....Can you delete whichever post is the duplicate? I did it last time and deleted the one you'd edited--don't want to repeat that mistake. Thanks!

For some reason I am unable to delete the duplicate. Go ahead and delete the one with no replies. The sad, pathetic, lonely post with no replies....

Paul!!!!!! Hey man it was good to meet my co-moderator. Wish we could've hung out a bit longer, but you know me, always working lol.

For sure next time we'll hook up before hand and have a couple drinks.

Nice trip. Funny that you're drawn to both bingo and clubs - I feel way too young for one and way too old for the other - you figure which is which. Shoulda gone to catch up with patti, tho - write #6 out on the back of your hand next time. ;)
