    My Trip Report

This is kinda long but here goes. Short form, 4 guys get drunk Saturday and Sunday. Lose money at Sportsbook, Poker, and win at Blackjack.

We left Minneapolis at 9:00 am and landed at 10:30, no problems whatsoever. We got our rental car from Dollar and head over to Green Valley Ranch for the Saturday brunch which includes Bloody Marys and champagne. We each had about 6 bloody marys and left after about an hour. Excellent food. From there we hit the boulder strip since we had some time to kill before check in and stopped at Nevada Palace and Longhorn. Me and G both veterans played blackjack each making about $20 and the newbies D-money and Ivy proceeded to lose their $20 on roulette. The drink service was decent at Longhorn, but we never saw one at Nevada Palace. We checked into Fitzgeralds and headed out downtown stopping at LaBoyu for some drinks. By the time we hit Golden Gate they were empty so we filled them up for $3 at the Golden gate bar. G wanted to play some poker and the other 3 of us wanted to see the T-wolves game so G went to the Nugget and got on a $2/$4 table. The rest of us went to Golden gate for another $3 refill and then back to the golden gate for front row seats to the game. Midway through the 1st quarter the TVs switch over the the Heavyweight fight so we had to look at the small tvs behind the bar. We ended up losing $100 between the 3 of us betting on the under and the wolves to win. At halftime I strolled though the poker room and saw Phil Ivy playing some poker at the back table. I talked to my buddy and he said that they had a spot reserved at that table for Larry Flint and Johnny Chan was suppose to stop in there later too. After the game we decided to hit Cheetah's. Not a good idea on a Saturday night. There was people galore in that place. We went to sit at a table since there was a couple open towards the back and one of the bouncers stopped us saying that they were reserved. After slipping a different bouncer $20 we got a table close to the stage. We only stayed for about an hour but it was a good time. When we got back to the casino, G went back to the poker room and me and the newbies walked around downtown hitting the Golden Gate for shrimp and then heading to bed at 2:00.

Sunday - up at 7:00, Ivy and D-money were pretty hungover so me and G went to get our rental from the Valet at Fitzgerald's, took 45 minutes for them to get our car. Who in the world runs that casino? 7:30 am on a Sunday morning and only 1 person working the Valet. When we saw the line of people waiting outside G gave him our ticket with $5 hoping that would move us up on the list. It didn't then when another guy brought our car up he asked for a tip, G said I gave your buddy a tip 45 minutes ago and told him to hit the f***ing road. We hurried over to Luxor for the sign up for the 10:00 hold'em tournament. We got on the list and then ate at McD's. G and I were sitting at sperate tables for the tourney and neither one of us had any luck. There were no hands that I would have won even if I had stayed in. I was out in 25 minutes with G out 2 hands after I was. We headed back to Fitzgeralds and parked the car ourselves. We grabbed our stuff since we were staying at Bourbon Street on Sunday night and hopped in the car. We ate the buffet in Orleans and then caught the final 25 laps of the NASCAR race which G and myslef had put $10 on 5 drivers (J.Gordon, R.Gordon, T. Stewart, J. Johnson, B. Labonte). For those of you that saw the race our 40 to 1 driver Robby Gordon was on the move with 10 to go and then a caution came out. We could have had $400 instead of the $60 we got for Jeffy winning. On to the Hotel. Bourbon street is a dump, there were stains on the floor, lamp shades, curtains, you name it, heck there were even stains on the upper part of the wall in my room. It didn't really matter to us much as we just wanted a place to sleep close to the strip. After freshening up, G and I pointed Ivy and D-Money in the right direction and told them what to see while we sat in Imperial Palace and played some blackjack. We were there for 4 hours and only got about 8 drinks, we were not too impressed by that but we were winning so we couldn't leave. G walked out $80 ahead and I won $160. We met the drunks at Bellagio. D-money was splitting 10s at the $10 table and Ivy was standing behind him both drinking Smirnoff Ice 40s in brown bags. We headed back to the hotel to change as we were heading to Risque in Paris. We got to Risque and the beers were $5. After getting the beers we scoped out the joint, smaller that I would have guessed. We knew that all of the tables were reserved but there was one balcony table that is connected to the dance floor that didn't have a reserved on it so we snagged it. We always had 3 to 4 decent looking girls chatting with us wanting to sit in our seats or admire the view. D-money and G - the single ones-were out dancing most of the time while Ivy and I laughed at them making idiots of themselves. We headed back to the hotel at 3:00 having the steak and eggs in the resturant at Burbon Street.

Monday - up at 7:00. D-money and I headed over to Bally's to play some blackjack. No $5 tables even at 7:00am. We sat at a $10 my head still foggy from the night before and had a couple bailey's on the rocks. At 9:00 we headed back to the hotel and woke G and Ivy up. G and I wanted to play in the poker tournament at Luxor again and today it was at noon. D-money decided to sign up with us and Ivy used a key that D-money got from one of the ladies the night before to hit the pool. I ended up knocking D-money and G out of the tournament with an aces and nines full house. My goal for the day was to make it to no-limit (the first hour is limit). I did it. There was about 16 guys left when I got big slick. I had not gotten any winning hands since that full house so my stack was pretty low - about double the big blind so I went all in ended up losing to a 7,8 suited - he got a pair of 7s. Then I sat right down at the $2/$4 limit game across the table from G. We played there for 5 hours on $60 (high of $110 low of $6 - cashed out at $28) while D-money and Ivy hung out at the pool. The last hand of the night - which we said before the hand started - I raised with a J 10 diamonds suited, G raised me, and I raised him back. I put him on a AK or pocket high pair. After capping the betting it was him, me, and 1 more guy. Flop was JH, 7D, 4D so I had high pair on the board and 4 cards to the flush. Once again G and I capped the betting with the other guy calling. Turn was a 2 of clubs obviously no help to anyone, G and I capped the betting again. Now I was starting to wonder, I was pretty sure that G had rockets but had no idea what the other guy had. Final card was a 10 of hearts. Once again G and I capped the betting. I was pretty sure that I was going to make out like a bandit catching 2 pair on the river assuming that G and mystery guy had high pocket pairs. G turns over his rockets, I turn over my 2 pair and then mystery guy flips up an 8 9 to make a straight. This guy stayed till the river on a gutshot straight draw you have to be kidding me. G and I figured out that the pot was $147 - $48 from the 3 of us and then $3 blinds. After that we headed up to the IMAX with D-money and Ivy and saw a double feature of NASCAR and Adrenaline rush for $13. NASCAR was great but Adreanline rush kinds stunk. Drove down to TI so that we could see the NEW show -it sucked. Then it was back in the car, drop it off, and fly home. Now I get to go back May 19-22 with my wife and another couple....hopefully I can make it to the final table in the tournament.

Interesting trip report, sounds like you guys had a fun time.

I can't believe that you didn't put any money on the DEI cars. Robby might have been moving up, but he wasn't going to do anything.

We didn't put any money on the DEI cars because they didn't pay well. Little E was 2-1 and Waltrip was 7-2.
