    My Trip Report

    Sunday 15th Feb

This time flying with US Airways via Philadelphia , my Flight on the first leg is advertised as departing on time and it is, as I board and make my way towards my seat, I’m on a window seat and as I walk down the aisle I see a guy in the aisle seat who is about 6 ft…… wide and built like a brick outhouse, please don’t be on row 12 I say to myself but he is, but to be fair he is a nice guy and the room I have is still good. The flight is uneventful and I watch a couple of movies, The Equalizer which is a good film but my memory of Robert Mcall is Edward Woodward driving a Jaguar, I also watch Pirates of Caribbean as well. I arrive in Philadelphia and it's an easy passage through immigration I make my way to the gate for my next flight, it’s a few minutes delayed in departing and after a quite flight and watching some Top Gear and an episode of the A Team set in Vegas although I don't think it was filmed there, I arrive in Vegas about 7 pm.I pick up my luggage and get a cab to Tuscany where I’m stopping this time, the check in line is short and in no time I’m in my large room and after a shower and change I’m back out and making my way up to the Strip. First place I call in is O’Shea’s for a couple before heading to Gilleys at TI to watch some bikini bull riding then some VP at the casino bar before I walk back down the Strip and finding myself in Tilted Kilt for a couple of beers then I head back to Tuscany to round off the night with some more beer and some VP.

    Monday 16th Feb

I’m up for about 10 and I make my way for breakfast at Marilyn’s Café at Tuscany, I have the eggs benedict and a coffee and make my way out and up towards the Strip, I cut through Bally’s and Paris to get onto the Strip and my first call is Monte Carlo where I watch the second half of a cup game featuring Preston and Man Utd and after a couple of beers in there I make my way back up the Strip and end up in Mirage. I have a beer at the sports bar before going to the box office, for many visit’s I have said I was going to watch Terry Fator but never got round to it, so this trip I’m going to put it right, I get the package where you get good seats and a programme, a signed picture and a free drink before the show, I’m on the third row for Tuesday night’s show.

I get given the picture and programme then as saves me carting it around Tuesday night, I make my way over to TI via the tram and play some VP at the bar, I’m there a couple of hours before making my way back towards Tuscany, as I make my way through Harrah’s I notice Big Elvis is on so I call into the piano bar and have a beer while catching the back end of his show. After he’s finished I make my way back to Tuscany for a shower and change and then to the café for something to eat.
I plump for the prime rib and it is good and filling and after that I make my way out, but not to walk off the prime rib as I jump into a cab and make my way over to the Rio.

Once there I have a wander around and check out the memorabilia shop before some VP at the bar which doesn’t end well , so it’s a trip across to Gold Coast which in all my visit’s to Vegas I had never been in it, so I have a walk round and a beer at the bar before leaving. Then it’s another first as I go across to Palms another place I have never set foot in and again it’s a wander around before getting a drink and then going out to get a cab, so I’m ticking them off the list now and maybe one day might get round to going in Circus Circus.
So the taxi takes me Downtown and drops me near Binions and I make way along Freemont St and end up in Golden Gate for a few beers and a chat with a couple of the bar staff I know, and after a couple hours in there it’s taxi time again and I get dropped off at TI and I go across to The Rockhouse for a pint and then it’s a walk back to the Tuscany for some late night VP and a couple of drinks to end the night.

    Tuesday 17th Feb

I was up and about for about 11 and it was breakfast in the café again before heading out onto the Strip, I ended up in Paris and Gustevs bar was showing a Champions League match so I stopped there and had a couple beers while watching the second half. Then it was out onto the Strip to test drive a camera I had received as a long service present from work, I took some pics on the Strip and round the Linq before I decided to go and have a look at the auto museum, at the Linq hotel, not the easiest place to find but I get there eventually and pay my money and go in, now I’m a big car fan so this is just like heaven, some absolute classic cars in here and not just American cars, I’ll probably go back again to this place, my camera got well used in here.

After the museum I take some more pics on the Strip then end up at TI for some VP and of course a drink before heading back to Tuscany for something to eat. After that it’s back to the room for a shower and change and out as I’m off to see Terry Fator, I make my way to Mirage and I get my free drink and my choice is a $14 big beer in a Terry Fator plastic glass.
I make my way into the theatre and the seat is great and the show is also great I wished I had of come to see him sooner, a lot of his material is up to date as well so his show is fresh, also the material is aimed at a general audience so there isn’t anything that makes you think I don’t get that, apart from the odd risky joke that maybe the kids in the audience won’t get.
After the show I go over to Harrah’s for a drink followed by one in the Linq then onto O’Shea’s for a few before one at Bugsy’s bar, then a couple in Paris before rounding the night off in Bally’s, then it’s the short walk Back t Tuscany and bedtime.

Again I was up about 11 and after some breakfast I made my way down the south end of the Strip and ended up in NYNY, I went into Nine Fine Irishmen and got a beer, to be fair to the barman he said happy hour was starting in 5 minutes so he would take my money once it started. I had a couple of beers in there before going across to MGM and I got an M life card, I could have got it in NYNY but there was a bit of queue in there in here there wasn’t. I head to Centerfuge bar to play VP and when I get there I’m the only one in there but I start playing and it’s not going to well, I’m getting the points but no wins and I leave a little bit down after a couple of hours.

I head back to Tuscany and after something to eat I go back to the room for a rest but I wake up well after I wanted too and add to it my throat is sore as hell and I don’t feel the best, by 10pm I’m wondering if to stay in bed and see if I’m better in the morning or get up and drag myself into the casino, I decide on the latter as I didn’t come all this way to lay in bed and I splash some water on my face and get dressed.
I get to the bar and stick $100 in for VP and get a beer, I’m playing along and it’s not going too bad, but eventually I’m down to about $30 so another 100 goes in and I start to hit some 4 of a kinds and it’s an up and down thing and the best I hit is 4 2’s, so after 5 and half hours of playing I’m $25 up and also all the Stella I have had has made my throat feel a lot better, I decide it’s time for bed anyway.

After a late finish on Weds night Thurs morning I wasn’t up until about noon, I still didn’t feel 100%, but I made my way to the café for a sandwich and drink, after polishing that off I hit the bar for some more VP. Didn’t last as long as the previous stint, I managed a couple hours and ended up about $20 up which was mostly thanks to hitting 4 aces late on. After tearing myself away from the bar I made my way up to the Strip and into Harrah’s to watch the Big Elvis show, I had caught the back end of the show on Monday so decided to go and see a bit more than a few minutes of show that I saw on Monday. The show was good and he also sings some of the lesser known songs which is something different.

After the show I make my way back down to Tuscany and I get something to eat, I try the lasagne, and it is good and filling, after that I return to my room for a rest, I still think I’m coming down with something as I’m not one for taking naps in Vegas. I’m asleep for a couple hours before getting up and washed and changed. I go out and decided to get a taxi up to TI, the driver is pretty chatty which I always like although is opening question after I said hello and where I was going didn’t go down well.

Taxi Driver: So where you from, Edinburgh or Glasgow?
    Me( laughing): I’m actually English
    Driver: Oh right

We get to TI and he gets out and opens door and now I can see him he looks a lot like Davey Deals from the TV shows Pawn Stars and Counting Cars, I pay him and he gets a good tip as well. I go into TI and it’s pretty busy at the bar, so busy that I end up on one of the machines at the end of the bar, I get a beer and hit the VP for a while, I only have one beer as the VP is not doing much and I head out and walk up to the Linq, it’s packed in O’Shea’s as I walk through there and I end up in Tilted Kilt for a couple. I head back to O’Shea’s and have a beer or two in there.
Then it’s a walk to Flamingo and a beer at Bugsy's Bar, before I walk round to Cromwell and have a couple of beers at the bar as I watch the club crowd passing by, especially one girl in a short black skirt that as she walked along you could see the pink panties she was wearing, well I'm assuming they were panties.
After that excitement I make my back towards Tuscany, as I walk past the Westin I decide to go in there for a drink, the place is dead, there are only two of us sat at the bar and only one table open in the casino, I have a bottle then go back to Tuscany for a couple of late night drinks before bed.

Tilted Kilt has become a bit of a regular haunt for me on the last couple of trips, I have never eaten in there but the beer is good and you have a good choice as well, plus you probably know one of the top reasons I go in there :wink2:

Love the car museum. Looks like the have some different cars in there now. I usually go there every 2-3 years.
You can find vouchers for the car museum, I think i've found them on this board before.

I read a TR on another board that included Tuscany recently. Do you gave any room photos? Are the suites recently renovated. I'm thinking of an extended stay this fall and it might be nice to try something new away from the strip for a couple of nights. The pool area looks quite nice in photos I've seen. Does Marilyn's have any "gambler's specials"?

I never took any pics of the room but they are very big rooms, don't think mine was renovated but it was very clean, pool area is nice but not busy this time of year, but it was May when I stayed here last time and it was fairly busy then, I never noticed any gamblers specials at the café although there is a sign at the Toscana bar that if you get 4 of a kind no deuces you get a free apitizer at Marilyn's.

    Friday 20th Feb

So my last day in Vegas for this trip but still not feeling my usual self, I’m up for about 1pm and I head out to buy some family gifts, I make my way up to the Strip and into Paris. Gustev’s bar seems to be calling and I have a couple beers there which seems to make me a little better. I head down as far as Monte Carlo and I call in to the food court for some Mcdonalds.
After that it’s walk back through Crystals and then into Miracle Mile for some shopping and then back to Tuscany, I crash in the room and doze off before waking up about 10pm, I freshen up and finish off the packing I need to do before into the casino for one last stint of VP. I last till about 1 am and realise it’s time for bed as I need some sleep before flying out next day.

    Saturday 21st Feb

I wake up about 8am and I don’t need to rush to get up and I don’t , but soon I know it’s time and I get washed and dressed and pack the final few things, check out is easy as there is no queue and I head out to get a taxi. I get to the airport and straight forward to check in and through security, the flight to Philadelphia is easy and I swap sunshine of Vegas for the snow of Philly and a lot of snow as well, we finally touch down and the pilot gets a round of applause from the cabin as visibility was not good, we finally get to the gate and I’m off into the terminal.
I look at my flight to Manchester which says on time, then I look at the snow outside and I think yeah right , I get to the gate and after about 5 minutes it gets changed and I make my way to the new gate. When I’m there I can see a plane already there but it’s not the one to Manchester , this one is waiting for a passenger so it can depart, apparently it had let some passengers off as it had been heavily delayed leaving and when they called for them passengers to return to the plane, one person didn’t.

So after about an hour or so the gate got changed again, so onto the next gate and there’s a plane there but it’s just leaving and after a while the plane I should be getting on arrives at the gate, this plane had landed nearly two hours ago and had been sat on the tarmac waiting to get to a gate. So the planes here and we all wait for what seems forever while they prepare it, eventually everyone is allowed to board and we think were gonna be on our way, but no it’s not that easy.
After a while the captain says that we are waiting for the plane to have fresh water pumped on and also the toilets dealt with and after that has been done we would have to have the plane sprayed with de icer before we can take off but that makes sense, after another hour we are told the water is done and so are the toilets.

But there is another problem whoever has done the water has left the flap open under the plane so we are now waiting for somebody to come and close it, so after a while somebody turns up but they haven’t got the tool to close the flap so they have to go back to the hanger to get it. Anyway after a while we are now good to go after we get de iced, should of taken off at 8.50pm left Philly at 2.17am.
Flight was 6 hours and I just basically slept apart from the time they came round with food, so all in all a longer drag back home than I would of liked.
I’m back in May anyway and it’s a direct flight this time

I'm surprised you don't stop at Stage Door for one on the way from Cromwell to Tuscany. Great people watching opportunities, and very cheap drinks. The bar staff there are the hardest working that I have ever seen.

Breanna, we stay at Tuscany often. They are not newly renovated, (at least the ones we have stayed in) but are spacious and very clean. The kitchenette isn't up to much, it has an under counter fridge, and you can request a microwave, but they don't supply any cutlery to help out with the appliances. We bring our own stuff, so are well prepared. I'm not on my home computer right now, but have some pics on there that I took last October. I will post them when I get home.

I have walked past it so many times and it always looks like there's a few people in there, I will give it try when I'm back in May
