This has been rumored for a while, and is entirely unsurprising. 1OAK was always a weird one to me, because my understanding was that it was owned and managed by Light Group, and they were basically just licensing the name from Butter Group (as opposed to the LA and DF locations, which I think Butter Group owns outright). It made sense when 1OAK was one of the top clubs in NYC, but the name just doesn't have the same cachet anymore, so it's not worth paying licensing fees, and they'd probably be better served by developing their own new property.

I didn't have a problem with 1OAK either. It was just a smaller venue.
