Hi all. I see fewer of these single line slot machines where each credit is a dollar and max bet is two units. In fact last trip (last November), i couldn't find any, although i didn't look very hard.

Do any of you have any favorites in this category? Are they an endangered species?

    Mahalo in advance

Video slots are certainly slowly eating up floor space from the 3 reel machines, but there's still plenty at all of the places I play on the Strip (MGM Grand, Aria, Caesars). It's getting harder to find the ones with the lowest variance pay tables.

Reel machines tend to be clustered together, so you need to look around until you find a section that has them.

They do exist, but are becoming less visible.
PH has a number of them by their HL area.
Paris has them near their HL area too.

Most of the $1 2 credit slots, there is little incentive to play the 2nd $, as the odds are merely doubled up, i.e. 1 coin jackpot $2000, 2 coin jackpot $4000. It is different if the 1 coin is $2000 and the 2 coin is $5000 or more.

How could I forget the Top Dollar has 2 types of machines.
One a 3 credit and the other 2 credit.
I would seek out these for some fun.

My favorite 2 credit machine is Quick Hit. It has a progressive for 3 scattered Quick Hit symbols, or an even higher prize for 3 symbols on the pay line. Any QH symbol on or off the line will give you 2 credits.

Ooh I like quick hits. Also, I've never played top dollar, so maybe I'll try that out. And pro tip on the WOF at the palms, but unfortunately idk if I'll be able to make it out there next trip.

I actually have been finding it much harder to find 2 coin machines where the top line payout for the 2nd coin is only 2x.

The higher the "bonus" for playing the 2nd coin, the less often everything will hit, no matter whether you're playing 1 or 2.

They are getting harder to find. A lot of them still exists in abundance Downtown, especially at the Boyd properties (MSS, Fremont, Cal). The Orleans has a ton of them but not so much at the Gold Coast.

When we're out and about in Vegas I always look out for them and found that they are getting harder to find, especially at the Strip and local places like M, GVR, Sunset, Red Rock, and South Point.

I know PH and Trop both have the $1, max 2 credit wheel of fortune machines. I'm a big fan of those

Aria has some in the area across from the cage in the area behind the bar at Alibi.

This was going to be my suggestion. They have a few of these at Mandalay Bay.

Mirage has a big cluster of reel machines (quarter, dollar, and five-dollar), near the Cravings buffet area. I think I've seen both 2-coin and 3-coin ones.
