    Hi all,

Heading to Vegas on Labor day for 4 nights. I have been a dozen times, taking a buddy who has driven through once with family and has not been in any hotel except circus circus.....we are in our 30s and married. He might have a beer a day, I don't drink. We are there to golf, sit by pool, and play in poker tourneys.

Staying mon tue at Mandalay Bay. Have flamingo fab luxury room comped with $50 resort credit for wed thurs, but just got offer for 2 free nights at mirage with no credit.

Should I cancel flamingo and rebook mirage? The resort credit makes it a tough decision...

I am hoping to upgrade to Go luxury when I get to flamingo with 2 beds, and know the mirage is limited with 2 bed upgrade options.

All of that being said, what are your opinions on what to take for rooms, ugrades, pool, location, and poker options?

    Mirage, Mirage, Mirage.

    Really no comparison.

Especially if you are wanting to give your buddy a nicer experience. Mirage is worth $25 per night more than a Flamingo fab, imo.

Mirage is nicer but flamingo has better location
Its all Depending on how important that 50$ is to you , keep in mind 50$ will cover the resort fees and not much else

I am under that impression as well - as when I called Flamingo to ask where and what I can use the credit towards, I asked if I could use it towards resort fees. The response was to make sure to go to TR check in line and that they should take cre of resort fees as it is a comp.

Question is - do I believe it?

I agree about the location - although I am certain we are going to want to trek up to Wynn at some point as well.

..and i found that getting into Flamingo was much easier than Mirage - although that could change depending on what the Linq has changed to the east of the strip for the hotel/parkade entrance....

If all is comped, you could keep both. Stay at Mirage, and keep Flamingo reservations to get the $50. They are different properties so one doesn't know you have the other.

Are you Platinum or higher with CET? That is the only way they'll waive the resort fees.

And location is not that big of a difference. Walk across the street and go through Harrahs & The Quad and you're there.

You will definitely get stuck in a Fab room if you need two queens.

    Go with The Mirage.

Go with the Mirage, you won't regret it. Has a great location and some great restraints and one of the best Pools in Vegas.

I have now booked Mirage as well, and will wait awhile longer to decide.

..but i am pretty sure that I will stay at Mirage. I just always seem to lose my shirt at that place, whether I am staying there or just go for a visit....maybe that's why they're the only MGM property that is comping me 2 nights still! :rolleyes2:

Another vote for the Mirage, it's just a much better overall property.

I agree with Mirage. I'll be there in September. Also, it sounds like you and your buddy are not the partying types and from what I've heard the Flamingo pool can get kind of crazy, while the Mirage pool is more laid back. Since you mentioned your plans were to golf and hang out by the pool, I think the Mirage is the better option.
