The other night my wife and I were out to dinner with friends and talking about our upcoming trip to Vegas. Like us, they have been to Vegas numerous times. Some how we got on the subject of the the show Las Vegas and started talking about what the Montecito would be like today. Some of our quotes or observations were the following:

    1. "Hi folks, where are your from? Interested in a free show tonight?"
    2. "Wow, this place has really deteriorated since it became a CET hotel."
    3. "It is a shame they got rid of the giant waterfall so they could put in a Walgreens."

I was never a big fan of the show but the thought of the post recession Montecito had me cracking up.

Love this show, too. Would love to stream it on Netflix and just binge-watch before trips.

I have every episode downloaded on my computer. I'll watch a season or 2 before I go on a trip.

There were two things that trouble me about the show. First, I found the James Caan character annoying as hell. Second, I hated the surveillance tech. That being said, I watched when it was on.

I loved it. The show was complete Fantasy, but a place like Vegas exists on the idea of complete fantasy.

    That's a good point.

Saying that - my GF is a hotel manager in Vegas and some of the story lines they featured have become more believable since knowing her.

You left out the part about their new "ultra club and their resort fee of only $25 per night for amenities most won't use." LOL

A couple of years ago I was in Vegas with a couple of guys. One of them wanted to see the glass casino. I tried to find out what he means. He wanted to see the Montecito.

The theme of The Montecito would have been replaced with
a bland dark wood color casino.
The bartop VP machines would be 6/5 now.
James Caan would have more hair now - than 10 years ago.
Those hot chicks ( don't remember their names ?) would be divorced + single moms.
And I'd be the fat/bald guy complaining about how good VEGAS used to be !
