In pursuit of Noir. Probably a tragic tale.

    My Trip Report

Ok. So this will be my third weekend in Vegas out of the last six, but I swear I don't have a problem. No. Really. There are two friends of mine from London who I never get to see staying at the Venetian, and if I don't see them this weekend I probably won't see them for a few years. As a bonus, apparently there is a dice setting guru thread where I can just show up at the table and a bunch of us VMBers are going to clean up!! Not sure why everyone else isn't coming. So Casino Host 1 has offered me suite and 400 in FP to drive tomorrow and smash them. Am I wrong? Isn't this the greatest idea in the world after I've had several beers and a couple shots at my local as I watch Dan Haren's perfect game through 3 & 1/3?

Oh yah, I'm sitting at 855,905 tier points and I read a rumor from another site that a cool million gets you in the club.

to be honest, they're not Limey. One is from Philly and the other from Columbus, OH. I grew up in Santa Barbara and worked in London for many years. Was going to bring them to your dice setting play. But the Limey thing really puts me off. What's up with that?

Never heard of the term Limey before. Just had to google it. Interesting!

    Sincerely,

    A Limey.

PS: Looking forward to your trip.

You said friends from London, Limey would be the term. Has to do with keeping lime trees on ships to prevent scurvy, the British did it. Learned this from Good Eats/Alton Brown this week in his show on making Punch. Nothing to get twisted about.

    Enjoy your weekend in Vegas!

I thought quinine was for scurvy, hence gin and tonic.

Awesome VG!! We'll have a drinky drink.

Time to head to the salt mine/talent agency to earn my crust of bread. On the road in 6 hours hopefully. Need to stop by the local Nursery to pick up Lime and Cinchona trees for my journey. Thanks everyone for 17th Century travelling advice, I can leave the leeches at home now.

it was 1 million the last time I got Noir but now i'm told it is 2 million or 1.5 million. Please let me know if you get to 1 million and they make you Noir.

I'd like some first hand experience on if it is still 1 million.

It's been invite only for a couple years now. But I think 2 mil is what they look for. I also think you need a host to invite you to join, so make sure you have one when the time comes

I have a host and she actually made me Nori before I hit the 1 million mark last time since I was close and on my way she called and I was Noir before I got there but I did get over 1million when I left that trip.

I have not asked this year since I'm not close to 1 million tier points yet.

I think the HOST has a lot of lead way to make you Noir.

I'm at 1m this year and no Noir. Should pass 1.5m next month and I'll check back but thought it was invite only at this point.
