Staying there next month with my parents. It was by far and away the best deal in town so we took it (expensive weekend). My dad stayed in a Paradise room earlier this year with his guy friends and he said it was great, he shot a video of it for me, looked good... so that's what we booked.

Did we pick the right room? Would it be worth it to try to upgrade to the HRH tower? My parents LOVE Trump/Vdara (non-smoking, large rooms).. and I think those rooms seem similar to what we would get there.

Any noise to worry about? We do spend a fair amount of time in the room(s).

Also any good dining options there? Worth joining the players club? We have a car and have events planned at other hotels, but if we can do some stuff there it would be nice! But, I'm not sure where to start.

I haven't even been in there in 4 years, and I haven't stayed there since I was a teenager probably 15 years ago.

I feel like such a Vegas nerd, but I know next to nothing about Hard Rock for some reason!!

The Paradise tower rooms are nice, though decorated a bit dark (especially the bathrooms) and are quite a walk from the casino areas and restaurants. The HRH Tower is definitely worth the upgrade if possible, as it has it's own check-in area, own garage and valet area and the rooms are all semi-suites with a nice sitting-area an sleeping-area separated by a twin flat screen-TV tower kinda thing in the middle of the room. Both Towers (Paradise and HRH) opened at about the same time in 2010, so elevators are fast and the rooms are quiet, though to be fair, the Hard Rock has a fair amount of guests (often under 30) who are there to party. I stay there 40-50 nights a year a most nights, sleep soundly and hear nothing, but occasionally hear the "party" coming home at 4 a.m. kinda noise. I pretty easily fall back asleep, but it does happen. The beds in the entire hotel are OUTSTANDING!!!

BackStage Pass is their Players Club. I like it, cause you receive 10X points for every dollar spent on property (room, food, spa, etc.). Gaming receives the pretty much standard points for slots, VP, table-games as most of the competition. Of course, unlike MLife or CET, the Hard Rock's program is only good at the Hard Rock, Las Vegas... not even at other Hard Rock hotels or casinos. The casino is often quiet, especially in the day time, but does come to life at night during later hours... 10 p.m. - 2 a.m.

The property is "by itself", so some people complain about the cost of going back and forth to the Strip, which is a short cab-ride (don't walk it... further than it looks). Silver Sevens (the old Terrible's) is close, but nothing special or worth the walk, IMHO. Since you have a car, you'll be fine. If you do stay in the Paradise Tower, move your car to that garage after check-in. There's a light right outside now and getting around town is very easy from either garage.

Dining? Mr. Lucky's is the main 24/7 diner type food. It's popular, usually busy and good. Culinary Dropout and 35 Steaks & Martini's are both my favorites. CD is upscale, pub-foodie fare in a very casual atmosphere and 35 is the fine-dining joint, but again in a very relaxed atmosphere. Nothing "stuffy" about the Hard Rock anywhere... that's what I love about it. FU is a good asian restaurant located in the HRH Tower and never seems to be as busy as I think it should be, given the quality of the food and service. Pick Taco is a hugely popular "new-age" mexican restaurant, that I eat at the least, but mainly cause I'm not big into that kinda food. It's probably the most popular in the hotel.

Im pretty confident you'll find the cleanliness and service on the property on par with anywhere on the Strip and a cut above most of downtown. Everything seems well-maintained and always in good repair. The pool-area is an INCREDIBLE 5 acres of well-maintained landscaping and 4 different pools. I've had the opportunity to stay at almost every major property in Las Vegas over the past 20 years and I settled in here about 5 years ago. I love it!!! It's seems to be a place you love or you hate... not a lot of people in the middle.

We ate at Mr Luckys in January and it was terrible! It was really quiet but the servers took a long time to come to the table and after taking our order, it took around 20 minutes even for our drinks to arrive, unheard of in Vegas! My wife had a side of mac cheese which was highly spiced and tasted truly disgusting! Our server didn't seem to be bothered and in the end we did not leave a tip.

Couple other things I thought of to share... the music is everywhere and a bit louder than most other places. I LOVE it, but you can't get away from it. It's throughout every part of the property from the moment you enter. Probably more of a concern for most folks, depending on what days you're staying is the music played out at the pools. It you get a "pool view" room in the Paradise Tower, you'll be right above the Paradise (north) pool, which is the main ReHab pool and has a soundstage pointed right at the Paradise Tower... the thumping of the bass starts around 10 a.m. and can go pretty late if there's an outside event. I'm the type that you can start a chainsaw up next to my head and it doesn't bother me, but many aren't. The pool view rooms in the HRH Tower experience the pool music as well, but to a lesser extent. The music from the Nirvana pool, which is outside the HRH Tower, is still noticeable, but not like the other area. "City" view rooms in either tower are much quieter, but of course if you''re in HRH, look out toward the airport and in Paradise look north up Paradise Ave.

Tip: Both Towers are 16 stories or thereabouts... be sure to get a room above about the 7th or 8th floor if you get a "city" view in either. The parking garages are nice and close, which is GREAT for getting you car quickly, not so wonderful if you open the curtains expecting a view and look right into either garage.

The Hard Rock has a VERY nice spa (Reliquary) facility, if that's something you enjoy and their workout area is one of the nicer ones in town as well.

The property seems to have few "fans" here on the VMB, but it sure treats me right, Feel free to PM me or ask for more thoughts as a follow-up here. I'm not a shareholder or shill, though I suppose it seems like it at times... just a very satisfied regular customer who has seen most every place in town.

I recommend upgrading to the HRH Tower as it's closer to the main floor of the casino and easy access to the HRH parking garage/valet... Using smartone's advice, I upgraded to the HRH Tower Double Suite (Room 1-1019) while everyone else in my golf group stayed in the Paradise Tower in King Rooms. My basic suite had a large couch in the living room with one flat screen TV. In the bedroom, we had 2 queen beds with another flat screen TV. My suite was great and we enjoyed it a lot even though our view was of the parking garage. There were no more pool views available even with a $50 sandwich so I'd flat out book it if that's what you want. I had no noise issues during my stay and unfortunately didn't eat at any of the restaurants there... Charlie

Actually met and partied with Smartone and Lady Fortuna out there when I stayed at HRH in April. Took the upgrade to the Paradise Tower and when the pools open the windows and bass thump but at 11 AM I'm already up and moving about.

Culinary Dropout was great, do the beer in a paper bag, interesting.

Happy Hour at Pink Tacos was exceptional and the start of a long night for us.

I cabbed it over to Caesars once and it was $16, tip included as there was some traffic back up. Since it was an R&R for me I never left the confines any other time except for Caesars for a dinner.

Oh wait…photos from that Friday(?) night at the bottom of the page

L to R Smartone, Lady myself…can’t remember the guy’s name behind Lady between Smart and I.

I will say this, because of that trip and the small/minimal gambling I did, comps galore for free rooms since then to the end of the year. Now if I can sneak a trip in somehow....

HRH is hit and miss. I still know several employees there that have been at the property from the beginning. They're pretty cool and fun to talk to. Some of the new help need an attitude adjustment. The place was my hangout 5days/week for 6 months before the vp took a good hit. I still visit it on occasion and I still enjoy the good music and young crowd.

Dealers are mostly friendly, waitresses are beautiful and are around frequently. Pink Taco is good (used to be great) and Mr. Lucky's is one of my favorite coffee shops on Vegas.

Oh yeah, and they play great rock music!

Thanks! We are from LA, so we drive to Vegas, so we will have a car. My Dad is going for the Barrett Jackson auto show at Mandalay, so pretty much me and mom will shop and gamble all day while he's there haha.. Driving isn't an issue, but I hate when we stay somewhere and do basically nothing but sleep there.. I've heard Culinary Dropout is good, i'm going to research! I've done Pink Taco here in LA, meh, it's fine for what it is.

My dad said the pool was perfect! Lots of shaded areas and it was big... I might have to go in this time! I haven't probably been in a pool in Vegas since the last time I stayed here when I was little haha.

I think we will be happy with the Paradise room. Just looked and HRH is sold out, and rates are at least 4x what I paid haha yikes! We've also stayed nearly everywhere... I'm sure this will be ok. I just wanted to make sure.

While it is a great place to hang because of the SERIOUS eye candy for both the girls and guys ( ESP that main bar).... if ya play craps ya have to watch the craps dealers somewhat carefully (if ya play the game),,,,,For awhile there they were making BASIC mistakes because they were trying to be hip and chase the the eye candy at the tables etc ... and it almost got to the point where I was arguing with the pit critters about it.. I didn't play there for a few years because of that.. However they did get better and for those friends who were played there recently have told me the same.. because apparently I wasn't the only one who had problems with their dice dealers. FWIW always had good luck at Mr Lucky no matter what time of day it is. BUT the service there can be VERY spotty ( eye candy issues there too) LOL! B but if not in a rush and like people watching who cares ;)?

I am heading to Hard Rock tomorrow and staying for just shy of a week. New rate sheet was just sent to me and standard rooms are $29 a night Mon-Thurs. I still opt for the upgrade to the HRH tower and usually get a corner king suite. Such a great room.

The pools are great and you can usually cut a good deal on getting a cabana during the week so that the minimum food and drink is exactly what you would spend anyway with two people, lunch and many beverages.

+ Great rooms and comfy beds
+ HRH tower separate entrance and check-in desk. Elevators closer to casino floor and pool entrance.
    + Pink Taco
+ relaxed casino floor and can always get on a table or VP or favorite slot
+ attentive servers on casino floor for beverages (i do recommend talking to them. I always introduce myself, ask if they are on duty next few days, give a very nice tip right away. My glass is never empty the rest of the week).
+ Convenient shopping - CVS right across street for all your needs (booze, snacks, rehydrating fluids for room, sun block, etc).

    - Rehab spillover - the party itself is blast to watch ( I am too old to participate), however, the drunks spill over later in the afternoon and that is when I leave for another property for the evening.

If you play BJ...watch out for their 6/5 tables. They are very sneaky about letting you know which tables are 6/5.

Stayed in the HRH tower - nice room, but get something ABOVE the 3rd floor. We had a lovely view of the roof.
