    Hi all

I think I've narrowed it down to Cut or SW for our trip in Oct. Wife and I are in our mid to late 30's. Into more of a modern feel rather than traditional type of restaurant. Which would you choose and why? Also regarding SW, can you make a res for the terrace, or is it a first come first serve kind of thing?

    Thanks!

We've been to both recently, and both are excellent choices. Both are fairly modern feeling as opposed to your traditional meat and potatoes steak joint. You'll be pleased with either choice. The terrace can be asked for, but it means you may have to wait a bit for your table even if you have a reservation, as seating out there is obviously limited.

Hint: the cut to order at both restaurants is the bone-in ribeye. SW does it with a chili rub that is heavenly. Last time we were at Cut we did the flight of steak, and the Nebraska ribeye was the most flavorful by far, totally killing the Kobe and the Wagyu.

+1 for SW. The cheese and bacon biscuits, the bone-in ribeye, potatoes au gratin and the poblano and bacon mac and cheese! Won't regret it one bit!

I've had SW and it was really good. We got a patio seat on a night it had rained previously and it collected on the tarp above and the wind blew it over and it ended up pouring all over our table. Luckily we stood up before it happened....staff reseated us immediately....I'm not one to make a big deal out of mistakes, we still had great service and a fantastic meal. Just make sure it hasn't rained that day if you want on the patio. Lol.

I've been to Cut twice, once alone at the bar and once with a friend at a table. It was a great steak and a great meal. I liked the modern decor and everything was great. I believe I had a strip steak the last time.

I've been to SW 3 times, once alone at the bar and twice at a table with a friend. Both times were at a table and we requested outside through their online reservation and they fulfilled that request. The steak was great and the meal was amazing. Service was also great. Sitting outside is very pleasant and even in June it felt very comfortable. The show is fun, sometimes a little cheesy but overall it added to the event. I had the bone in ribeye the last two times.

    I'd pick SW.

I think I'm leaning towards SW. Sounds like Cut has a small edge in terms of steak, but SW has a slight edge in overall experience. Especially if I can score a seat on the terrace. I'm sure I'll enjoy my ribeye at SW.

What a tough choice! As others mentioned, both are excellent in just about every aspect, but personally if I had to choose I'd probably go with SW for intimate setting and probably better overall experience. But again, you can't really go wrong with either choice.

    Enjoy!

My favourite is Old Homestead in Caesars. I love the bone on filet.

Both are great, but I have to go with CUT. I really like their steak.

You won't be disappointed either way.
