We typically stay at Monte Carlo or NYNY on 3 night room romps plus a little freeplay (usually $75 or $100). I typically accumulate around 25,000 tier credits from gambling only each trip (primarily slots and video poker with some low, low stakes blackjack) which is usually a 4 night stay with a $1,500-$2,000 gambling budget. This seems sufficient to continue to get comped rooms at Monte Carlo. We'll usually casino hop a little but the bulk of my play (75%) is concentrated at the hotel we stay at. The wife wants to stay at Mandalay Bay after our upcoming trip so I was thinking of doing a day or two of play there to see if I generate a property-specific offer from MB. Any MB regulars know about what it takes to get room comps? My corporate offer for Mandalay Bay is usually 2 free Sun-Thurs nights which isn't ideal since we usually go Wed-Sun or Thurs-Mon. If I had to estimate, I average around $5k coin-in per day between slots and video poker (probably close to a 50/50 split).

I'm fine with using a corporate offer and paying for the other few nights and seeing what I can get comped on the back end but just wanted to check with others to see if my typical play may get me.

I first got comp offers from Mandalay Bay after staying there on my April trip. My rating for that trip was ~$45 a hand blackjack/pai gow/craps for 4.5-5 hours a day + about $5000 coin into the VP machines. That got me offers afterwards for 3 nights any time, plus some show tickets or resort credit.

On my June trip my rating was $75/hand for 4 hours a day and my offers have jumped. Now getting slot tournament invites, better concerts, and suite offers from them.

I just got my first offer from them based off of my July trip where between Luxor/Excalibur/Mandalay Bay/NYNY (in that order) I accumulated 22,000 tier credits in 3 nights on slots and VP. I was actually on a Luxor offer. This trip was about 5,000 tier credits higher than my previous trip. My budget was on par, if you consider a per day average, with yours.

The offer was 3 nights, $100 resort, $50 freeplay, 2 spa passes, and 25% off spa services.

Being the first offer ever it could be a teaser, but that's what it was

Before playing there and trying to generate offers, I would just call and see what you can get. You never know until you ask!

On asking a MB host the same question - I was told they look for circa 3,000 points a day ($9,000 - $30,000 coin in depending on machine type) and that most room comp customers come in with about $5,000....

I hope this helps - I have never tested this response - so I am sure others will have better first hand knowledge..

Thanks for all of the advice and information so far.

3,000 points a day is a lot to get a free room. Or is this the threshold to get a host and get things above and beyond just a room?

We are going to try Border Grill's brunch this coming trip so I'll probably hang around and give them some solid play and see what happens.

I agree it seems like a high number for just a room - but as you say- I took it as an amount to get you on the hosts radar to build a working relationship with extras...

I just wanted to give you an honest answer that I had received from a host I trust - you read about players who run $100 thru and seem to get 'free' rooms for life - to the rollers that put a zillion points on and don't even get a corporate offer....so wanted you to have a point of reference - I do believe I have read on here that the B is circa 4,000 points so it seemed to make sense.

I wish you all the best for your trip and hope the offers come flooding in whatever the point target is...

    All the best,

    MG

MB has been pretty generous with their comps of late. If you spend a couple days there and gamble a good number of hours, you should get some nice offers.

We average about 90k-100k gambling tier credits for a 3 day visit. A 5k budget for slots and craps.

That generates Delano-3 nights or 4 Seasons-3 nights or 3 night suite at MB. 600 RC and 150 freeplay.

It's been fairly consistent as far as offers.

I would say, that your offer would probably be similar to what you have been getting plus one night. So 3 nights instead of the 2.

I get this offer from MB repeatedly. I'll be staying on it for the third time this Oct. I just got my Fall offer in email yesterday and it is the same. My bankroll is similar to the OP's and play is similar to dutchvelvet. However, my trips are usually 2-3 nights (1 or 2 less then OP) and I have gotten Fri & Sat comp. I think if the OP gave his usual play to MB he would get a similar offer within a couple months.
