. . . you would think MGM could maintain a functioning and user-friendly website. It is down more than up, always with an "oops, technical error - try again later" message.

    Oy.

    What Money?????

    By HOWARD STUTZ
    LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL

Nevada casinos suffered their fifth consecutive fiscal year net loss in 2013 despite a slight overall increase in revenue.

Strip casinos experienced a similar fate. Overall Strip revenue increased 1.7 percent during the fiscal year. But Strip casinos lost almost $1.5 billion.

Still, the Strip’s net loss was a 13 percent decline from fiscal 2012’s net loss of $1.7 billion.

The figures were part of the Gaming Control Board’s annual Gaming Abstract Report that was released Friday.

The abstract takes into account all revenue — gaming and nongaming — produced by casinos grossing more than $1 million in gaming revenue over the fiscal year, which ended June 30. In 2013, there were 263 casinos that provided results, two fewer than a year ago.

Statewide, Nevada casinos generated a net loss of $1.348 billion in fiscal 2013. In 2012, casinos lost $1.212 billion.

The last time Nevada casinos recorded a net profit was in fiscal 2008 — $721.1 million. The largest net loss came in 2009 when casinos lost almost $6.8 billion.

I agree, finally got logged in today, no offers. Hit the offers button again and there they were. Frustrating.

Mlife is best viewed on a Windows 3.1 machine...

anyway - the loss in revenue, I wonder what is the biggest cause - increase in the number of casinos throughout the country or a weak economy?

Probably both...We're headed for a depression here in the next year or so. If they thought 2009 was bad for the gaming industry - wait til we've had a few more quarters of bogus UE numbers and 0.1% GDP growth....But hey who knows, maybe it will force casinos to go back to their roots; good rules for the player, good pay tables, and good comps...:evillaugh

    Their website sucks.

And V/P's blows too. Their Grazie issue isn't fixed yet and I noticed the other day they don't have menus online for their restaurants.

    Step your game up.

Surprisingly, people in S. Korea still do. It's sad considering they're very technologically advanced with everything else...

I agree that the site sucks unless all you want to do is see your tier credits/express comps. I don't think the site is down as much as it used to be - but that's probably because the site doesn't really do anything.

    - Sure you can book your tier discount rooms - but you can't cancel them on the web-site.
    - Half the M Life properties don't post their offers on there. I get offers from Bellagio and NY NY - they never show up on the web-site.
    - The properties that do show up (like Aria and Mirage) - don't show you your free play amount - so basically worthless until you get the e-mail advising you what it is.
    - You can't book these offers using the web-site.

So again, what does is really do for you, except show you your tier credits and express comps.
