If you bet the entire table combination of in/out and left only 1-2 numbers open would the pit boss give you your full rating?

Yes. The house edge is exactly the same. Whenever you win, the win will be tiny. And when it hits one of those two numbers you don't cover, you will lose big

I would only try this with a single zero roulette table. Hard to find.

Mind you... it will take 37 spins to equal your combined bet and you'll want to bet exactly the same on each number.

I wouldn't bet the outside. Keep it to the inside only.

Sounds like this is totally going after comps. Though, it doesn't seem to be worth it to me either.

You could spread the numbers for $10 each and cover the board except one number and have $360-370 out on the table. You'd win $10 a spin. It would be a slow grind to win a little but the risk is low at 2.7% for European roulette.

regardless of how many numbers you bet...the HA is always going to be 2.7% on a EU wheel...

I see this method as backwards of a single number method...in both methods you are hoping for a numbers...but in the OPs method you are hoping for that number NOT to hit.

If you have the bankroll to do this method, why wouldnt you just bet the total amount (unit X 36 or 37) on a single number...that way if the number hits before 36 rolls you can leave up...and you still get the same comp rating.

I actually sometimes play a similar way to this in craps. It's part aggressive strategy, part dice control.

First I lay the 10 heavy and hedge it on the hardway.

Then I just try to avoid hitting 6-4/4-6. If I'm rolling pretty good and feeling hot, I'll pull it down.

I figure if dice control is real, it's easier to miss a 2 out of 36 rather than trying to miss 6 out of 36. Not easy. Just easier.

    Oy. Where to start?
Roulette: Let's just say that on roulette you'll lose $2.70 on every $100 you bet IF you can find a European "0" wheel. You'll lose $5.40 on every $100 you bet on a typical "0,00" American wheel with that strategy. If you split numbers or quad number bet, youll lose even more. No alteration in any 'system' will change that percentage for all of your bets.
Craps: If you play the Pass with double odds you can narrow your loss to only $.56 on every $100 you bet (Don't Pass a smidgen more, but that's no fun). Laying the 10 will lose $0.61 on every $100 you bet (vig due when placing). Hard 10 will lose $5.56 on every $100 you bet. There is no alteration in craps bet odds, they are always the same and always in the houses favor. If you think you are 'covering' yourself, you are in error; every bet is taken independently from every other bet you have on the table. As for 'setting' dice. Most people don't think this can be done. Those that think it can be done and have made a profession out of it (mostly by selling 'how to' books on it) say you have to practice HOURS a day to get any proficiency with it. Yes, HOURS a day.
Black Jack can be beaten if you count cards…not illegal but sure to get you kicked out of the casino.
Video Poker actually has some games that pay BETTER than 100% return, they are in your favor. This is only if you know the strategy for that particular game and generally requires HOURS of practice on a computer to get it down fully. Many casinos in Las Vegas have these games, but none on the Strip.
Most people that gamble seriously try to get as close to an even game (100% return) as they can and get the comps, cash back, casino offers and other benefits to bring their total payback up to a full 100%. People that really analyse the numbers generally stick with video poker.
