Caesars?

After several trips... I have never been inside.
Always seemed like such a hassle from the strip.
So, am I missing anything?

It's on the list for the next trip. I need some tips about the place. What not to miss, etc.

 

Hassle? I think Caesars is great. I've always wanted to stay there, maybe in November. If you like pub food, try out the Munch Bar, it's food is delicious and they have some cool options. Higher limits for the tables, slots you'll have your standard variety. I think it's just pretty inside (and that's coming from a dude). The Forum Shop mall is also nice, but too fancy for me. Definitely check it out next time you're there, it's worth seeing for sure.

 

If you're just planning to pop in, there's not a whole lot you've been missing. The best sites are the features outside in front of the hotel. Other than that, the lobby is kind of cool to see if you have never been in there. In the past I have seen actors portraying Caesar and Cleopatra walking around (if that's your kind of thing). There's nothing particularly spectacular or interesting about the interior public spaces of the hotel. If you're a fan of any of the regular performers at the Colosseum, they have special gift shops for them around there. You can walk under Cleopatra's ginormous boobs at the Cleopatra Barge bar. And somewhere back in the maze that is CP, there is a replica statue of David. I'm sure there is other stuff I am forgetting, but nothing as particularly memorable as places like Bellagio or Wynn

 

Which rooms at CP do you guys think are better than a Red Room at Paris? I was under the impression that CP is better than Paris but I have never stayed there.

 

I think all of their rooms other than the Roman tower are lovely. Even the Forum tower rooms are very nice and comparable to the Red Room. The only drawback to the Forum Tower is the view. We got a view of a roof and air conditioners. The Octavius Tower was fantastic if you can get it. The pool however is worth staying there for no matter what the room. It is the best in Vegas I believe.

NOBU is a hotel within a hotel and the newest but I hear rooms are quite small. I rated Octavius higher than Augustus only because it is newer but I like Augustus better because the rooms are slightly bigger and the tower is closer to the strip. You can also get fountain view rooms from Augustus.

 

This is what I am thinking too: outside the place looks pretty neat and they have a nice lobby inside, but beyond that the places that the public can go in and wander around (IE: not the rooms, pool, etc) are all pretty standard... just at Caesars Palace its all really really big.

My wife likes shopping at the Forum Shops, but since they got rid of the toy store in there I am less interested in going in there and instead now I usually just sit in the casino and play video poker by the Forum Shops entrance until she texts me to come pay for something or to get my opinion on some clothing item she is interested in.

 

Maybe stupid question.... what is the best way to enter ... trying to avoid walking in the heat!
Yes... the maps of the place look huge!

We got Forum this trip, which was actually quite nice. We've lucked out and got the Augustus before, which is VERY nice, nicest hotel room I can ever remember, actually.

It's a fun place, but their variety of lower-limit slots has been going down lately.

 

I'm booked for the end of September in Augustus, can't wait!

 

After my most recent stay in Vegas, I would rate Caesars in the top five of the many hotels I have stayed. IMO, the Augustus and Octavius tower rooms compare equally to the Wynn/Encore and Venetian/Palazzo rooms however for some reason I seemed to most enjoy my stays at the Bellagio. This year we upgraded to the Augustus rooms (from the Forum) and it was fantastic. I especially loved the special Augustus/Octavius valet on Flamingo Ave. for it was very fast and never hectic like the main valet can be at times. The separate registration also was a plus and the "extra" I loved every morning was the complimentary coffee, tea, and rolls they provide for those two tower residents. Oh, forgot to mention their Bachanal buffet they offer.... UNVELIEVABLE... Pooltime was very enjoyable for Caesars pools (again IMO) are the best in Vegas. I hope you have a great time.

 

Stayed in Octavius this past May, LOVED it! Whirlpool is big enough for two
The Food Court has a BBQ place that sells delicious Sub Style Sandwiches for about $9.00, comes with side of mashed or mac/cheese...YUM!
The Forum has Trevi and the Happy Hour was fun! Man, that Bartender moved.
Really, enjoyed Caesars!

 

We are not staying at Caesar's.
Only want to know about sightseeing there.
Will be across the street at Margaritaville & Cromwell, so coming from that direction.

 

To avoid the heat, I would cross the street at the Margaritaville/Linq corner and enter CP at the doors next to the sports book directly across the street. You just have to walk across a few car lanes and there are doors at that end of the casino. I know they used to and may still have pictures of many CP performers near that entrance. Hope that helps

 

We are staying there, so thanks to all who are giving great insight. We are staying in the Augustus Towers. So this is fantastic to follow - sorry Sue to piggyback on your thread.

 

Love Caesars.. Has pretty marble floors in shopping areas....riding the spiral escalators at the forum shops is nice... I love the gelato there... The corny animatronic free shows are pretty cool with the fire and water themes..I am always lucky at their casino...the Bacchanal buffet is awesome.. Great selection always delicious...really neat pool...very grand.
The business area is very nice..quiet for phone calls etc.
Not a fan of their food court but the other on site restaurants are very good. Never miss a visit to Caesars.. Have stayed there often. Going again early September. Another nice thing is I always seem to meet people from the UK or Belgium ...France ...Australia ...there.and they love it there as well? Happy vegas times y'all.

 

We are not big fans of Caesars in general....never have won anything & it is huge with a lot of walking. We usually go there once during each trip to explore for any changes and look forward next trip to seeing the new poker room. While there must always eat at the food court so I can have the lobster chowder....yum!
