I've been on this website for a couple years now, and love it! I only stay on the strip, party on the strip, gamble on the strip, and only discuss the strip in this forum. With that said, I've seen literally every casino on the strip mentioned on this site, but barely anything about the Tropicana. I've visited it a few times, it's small, and not a great location, but has a nice sports book, and from what I can see, a nice pool.

Why is there never a real discussion about the Tropicana? No mention about their pool, or nightclub (if they even have one), and rooms. Is this property not appealing to anyone?

I think its mainly because it is not CET or MGM...and it is not high tier like Wynn or Cosmo.

Their nightclub is RPM...I went there for the grand opening new years weekend 2011...it was pretty small and nothing to exciting IMO.

The only thing I know about the tropicana is that their grass on the walk between MGM and the tram is not actually grass but astroturf instead.

Although remodeled and looks better the casino is pretty small.
I have seen some room rates and they aren't very good.
People can stay at newer places or cheaper than at Trop.

Pretty common for Vegas resorts. Conserving water in the desert is a good thing.

Nothing to talk about haha. Everything they open closes quickly... poor location, not attached to any of the major slot clubs, and yeah as said above it's never the best or most resonable option for some reason.

Also, I know for me, I stayed there when it was the worlds biggest dump. I'm kinda scorned haha. Even though I've walked through since and it's nice enough now.

I love that casino, love the white tile, faux Miami vibe. I always do pretty well on the slots there too. They need to step up their marketing game. It's like they want to appeal to the vintage Vegas niche but they don't really go all the way. It's usually the last place I play before getting the WAX to the airport :p

Ladies getaway, somewhere on the strip with a pool :)

We gave it a chance a couple of years ago after hearing the "renovation" thing. Well I guess they were indeed renovating and put all the junk furnishings in our room. Casino was too small and no vibe. I will say that the pool was pretty damn good though.

Stayed there a couple years ago. Beds were SUPER soft and comfy, but I could hear every single ambulance and cop car that went screaming down the strip and the louvered shutters don't block out all the light - not great for a light sleeper like me.

I miss the old, dumpy Trop. 1-800-GO-TO-TROP!

I conducted a meeting there I December 2012. What started as a drip from the ceiling ended up as a ceiling collapse, right in my meeting room.

I was there in December 2013 conducting another meeting. What started as a drip from the ceiling ended up as a ceiling collapse.

No, I haven't typed twice! Same stupid room! Partegas something or other. I've booked the Orleans for my December meetings this year.

I didnt stay there but my attendees did and weren't impressed with the room, hated the cafe and the gambling. I wo once there years ago and never again so I don't play there. The staff though is wonderful. All long timers. The seafood restaurant and comedy club are excellent.

Used to stay there often for business trips. I like the place since they renovated it but also like the location as I always rent a car in Vegas and the Trop is handy for getting to many places easily.

My husband use to like the casino, we haven't stepped foot in the place in 2 years. We considered staying there after the renovations but we are casino hoppers. Hopping doesn't work well when there is only 1 property associated with their slot club. We have the same problem with TI. If we want that location we can stay at MGM or NYNY and visit Trop if we want. We also never thought their dining options were anything we wanted.

I really like the Trop, the bright casino is a huge plus. But like others have said, it's not part of CET or MLife , so I don't like gambling there unless I'm playing their dealer bust blackjack, and even then, I'll play for an hour and be on my way

This is my thinking too: people will talk on here about where they are going to stay in Las Vegas...

If they are going to pay for a room they generally tend to go for the better places to stay (Wynn and Cosmopolitan are good examples) or if they are looking for a free or heavily discounted room then its the Total Rewards or MLife properties because they are the easiest ones for most people to get comped rooms from.

My wife really likes the Tropcana casino (all time she is a winner in their casino) so we spend a few hours gambling there each trip (maybe 2 days for 4-6 hours each time) and do put a fair amount of coin through... but for us they seem pretty tight on the comps: why would I pay $80-100 a night to stay there when I can get Monte Carlo or Aria to comp me 3-4 nights up front with extras (F&B, free play)?

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Trop last year in late August. I thought the service and the pool, especially, were tremendous. I have to admit it was kind of nice to get away from a CET or MGM property for a little. I'd highly recommend it to someone who is into low-stakes play and a smaller venue. There's not much going on here, but that could be a good thing for some people. To each their own!
