I've started receiving these offers from CET. It's three free nights in Harrah's/Bally's/Rio/Flamingo and 6,000 points at one of their Gift Wrap-Up Events.

Has anyone ever been to one of these? I understand you buy gifts with the points, but have no idea what 6,000 points does for you. I don't play a lot at CET, but have their VISA card.

Anyone been or know anything about them?

I just checked my Wrap up points...over 150,000, I have no idea how I accumulated them, My tier Score is remarkably close to that (154k), are they earned the same a tier credits?

    Thanks!

Some of the points can be acquired by certain gambling/play and some you earn just by book a specific casino on certain dates. If you log into your TR account you may have those offers already. Been with CET for 7 years as a diamond and not once have I went to a GGWU event. Like previous posters stated, it use or lose by the end of the year. The 2 dates for the GGWU events are listed below.

    Dates: November 6, 2014 through November 10, 2014
    Time: 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Place: Grand Ballroom, Paris Las Vegas (please take note of the venue change this year)

    Dates: December 3, 2014 through December 7, 2014
    Time: 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
    Place: Palace Ballroom, Caesars Palace

I went to one of these at Planet Hollywood before it was even a Caesars property. They used to do something very similar a couple of weeks before Christmas when they were the Aladdin. I ended up getting a DVD player (back when they were expensive...this was probably 2004 or so).

Last year it was 30,000 point for a $100 gift card. The gift cards were the best value. (You could also get a $10 gift card for 3,000 points)

It turned out to be a good bonus for me. I booked my trip with $900 in free play, used a 7 stars trip for $500 Forum Shop gift card, plus used GGWU points for Christmas presents. I received just under $2000 worth of Home Depot, Shell, TJ Max, Starbucks, Flemmings, and Landry's gift cards.

As far as I can figure you receive 1 GGWU point per TC earned (not on bonus points).

The Vegas GGWU offers are confusing. Some you have to book on the offers and others you do not. I go to the TR desk every day and ask if there are any offers that day. On a couple Sundays this year there were bonus points I only found by going to the TR desk.

Last year most of my GGWU points came from Harrahs in Southern California. They have quite a few bonus days.

On another board I read of a group of people who would swipe each others cards on the bonus days.

I've been to the event twice now. The first year I got a Bulova watch for myself and a Yogi Berra autographed baseball for my husband. Last year I got a nice coffee maker for myself and a really nice watch for my husband. It works out for us because we always go to Vegas for our Son's birthday in November right around the dates of the event. We have never had a line-up to get in, only to actually do the ordering and even then it wasn't a very long wait.

The best way to jack up your GGWU points is to either attend one of the GGWU booster events leading up to it, or during the days leading up to it. There are all kinds of bonuses for play.

It is my favorite event to volunteer to work for each year, even before I was a host. Highly positive event, everyone has fun, some really cool gifts.

How much of that 154k was from play in Vegas? I have 157k and I am only in the neighborhood of 31,500 GGWU points. That is only 2 trips to Vegas. Based on how many points I earned those trips, I would guess it is twice the amount. Did you earn about 75,000 in Vegas, so far this year?

All of that 154k is vegas play, I don't play anywhere else. I would say that a portion of my 154k tier score is bonus points, so double may be the equation!

    Cheers.

Question, Don't mean to hijack but if I have 1,000,000 at MLIFE what does that equate to at CET?

In my experience, playing the same tables between both properties, the earnings rate for tier credits at CET seem to be 10%-15% of the rate at mLife. It is all relative though. At your level of play, I would almost assume you do not need to play too much before they just offer you Noir and 7 Stars at both properties.

Given my activity in 2012, at least some types of "bonus reward credits" count. That year a vast majority of my points earned in Vegas was from live poker which earns 17 Tier + 83 Bonus RC/hr = 100 RC/hr. I played over 35 hours at the former IP and my Tier score in Vegas was well under 1000, but I had over 3500 GGWU points. Fortunately enough for a $10 gas card. I obviously didn't plan on going to the event, but it ran while we were there. So why not? Any regular CET poker player that lives in Vegas should definitely attend...it's worth like a quarter an hour in stuff to them.

Unfortunately, GGWU points may only be earned from casinos in the "Western District" (i.e. Rincon, Ak-Chin, Reno/Tahoe, Laughlin, Vegas). Playing anywhere else earns you NOTHING for this promo. I think that's BS, but I didn't make the rules...

Not sure about the comment about mLife having better gifts - the GGWU has a boatload of really nice gifts too - they only display a small portion (VERY small) on the website. However needless to say those are for the very high rollers. I really don't remember what they had in the 150k category at all - that was well out of my range. But big screen TVs, iPads, Laptops, golf clubs, etc. So if you gamble high enough the gifts are there!

However I saw 'helpers' with the high rollers sitting at a table with them working out their entire Christmas shopping list for them. They would tell the helper what that person liked and about the value they wanted to spend on that person and they would send another 'gopher' around the room to find a gift for that person on the list, while the helper began to discuss the next one on the players list. I know when I walked by at one point they were discussing they only had about 600,000 left to finish the list with.......................................Insert big sigh here....................

I do know that my GGWU points was well into the 25-30k range even though my tier score was only around 10k the one year. I think as tringlomane stated above. With slots you earn bonus reward credits depending on type of machine and length of 'stay' at a machine & it appeared my GGWU points went up accordingly with the bonus credits also. One year I bought myself a purse & a cordless screwdriver, godiva chocolates & they had a few promo low cost items you could take with you - got a logo'd fleece blanket we still use on the sofa. The last year I went I got 2 NICE Emeril? cast iron frying pans and redeemed the rest for $50 freeplay.

As a note, I always receive a free room offer for GGWU event itself - however also other offers at that time. I always book the 'other' offer & just walk into the GGWU. One year I believe was Donny & Marie tickets - so obviously smarter to book on the 'prime' offer and the just attend the GGWU. Many other years I have just lost my points as I am sure I will this year also.

Forget the special offers for bonus GG points. I'm not interested in going to Vegas on those dates. Free play means more than stuff I don't need.
