For my upcoming trip I will be getting in Vegas around 10:30 am and by the time I get to my hotel (Bellagio) it will be close to the start of the game I want to watch. It's opening weekend of college football so I'm sure the sports book places will be packed. I don't have a problem going to one but it needs to be close. I know Bellagio has one but as I've never stepped foot in any sport book place I have no idea whether that one will be super crowded that day or not. If I am able to get in there do I have to place bets? (If I do it would be a relatively small one). Can you watch any game that you want? The game I want to watch will be on national tv but probably not very high on games that most people will want to watch. In the times I've been to Bellagio I can't think of any great place to watch fb games. Are their any other places within short walking distance that would be good to have a few beverages while watching fb and has lots of tvs?

Apologize for so many questions and if this is the wrong forum.

The books seating at Aria, Bellagio, CP and Mirage will probably be packed full by the time you arrive and get settled.

My recommendation would be to make a reservation at Lagasse's Stadium over at Palazzo. You'll have a seat waiting for you and you can just cab it over.

Thank you very much for the recommendation. Definitely will look into that.

Couple of other nearby options: Five50 at Aria is just off the sports book, and you can make a reservation in advance (they're on OpenTable, too) ... tons of TVs. It feels like an extension of the sports book. Was great for watching the World Cup.

Also, Todd English's PUB is in Crystals and not a bad spot to catch a game.

Guessing you're looking for the Michigan game, am I right? :)

Thanks! I will check those two out. They don't play Michigan until the next weekend :) and that one is the one I'm trying to find tickets for so I can go. this game is vs Rice- should be a cake walk but still 'need' to watch.

I second this. Might also check out Book & Stage at Cosmo. it may also be packed but it's (seemingly) a little less known.

Me and a bunch of my highschool buddies go every year in September - since you have a full slate of games starting at 9 am Vegas time - we have never had any trouble finding a seat in any sportsbook as long as a couple of people get their that early.

This includes the Palms, Rio, Cosmo and Planet Hollywood over the last 4 years.

Now if you just plan on wandering in mid-afternoon you will have a problem.

Granted most of the time we haven't been to bed the night before - but thats the price to pay for seats in the book.

I do want to try the Palazzo sometime tho.

Doubtful they will have anything open at Lagasse stadium. The book there is tiny anyways.

Go to the Superbook at LVH. It the mecca of sports gambling. The game will be on one of the massive screens and you will get to check it off your list if done that. Its really a neat place, not ritzy, lits of tvs and degenerate gamblers. If you want to bet you can if you dont, no big deal but youll definitely get a rush being there

You're welcome. When you call them they'll let you know the food/bev minimum to book a spot.

If I recall correctly when I called last fall for an NFL game it was like $50 per person.

Thanks again. The minimum is no problem. After 5 hours on a plane we will need lots to drink.

    Good luck and have fun!

See about getting one of the couches that they have since you'll be in a group. Fun atmosphere!
