Last month, I was staying at the Flamingo, so I got to frequent the Cromwell often.

I really can't put a finger on it, but I know it's one of the two:

    1) Either it's such a drastic upgrade from Bill's that is makes it SEEM like the Cromwell is really awesome..... or
    2) It IS really is awesome.

The fact I won $ playing craps there, and had a blast, could have something to do with it, but wanted feedback from all of you. Opinions on the Cromwell?

We're staying at the Flamingo in Oct. Really looking forward to checking it out. Bill's was always a favorite stop for us every trip.
Do they still have $5 crap tables everyday?

Cromwell is great. Although, it seemed to be an a-hole attractor during the day. We ran into 2 or 3 there and that's a high percentage as the casino is not crowded.

Ahole #1 was sitting at the end of the VP bar. I noticed the bartender was ignoring him. He called the CW over. I assumed to get a drink. He was hitting on the CW. A very pretty blonde with braces that looked a lot like Taylor Swift in the "I wear T-shirts" video. She turned down his offer for a date and he called her a prostitute and other not so nice things. I could see why the bartender was ignoring him.

I visit the men's room and Ahole #2 sits in my seat at the VP bar. I had my players card in the machine, the magic napkin covering the screen, my shirt on the back of my chair and there were a lot of empty seats at the bar besides mine. He was drunk or on drugs and seemed a bit incoherent when I requested he vacate my seat. He moved over a seat and security and a medic soon arrived to visit him, make sure he was ok and shoo him away from me. Made me feel like I have a little juice at the Cromwell.

Ahole #3 might be ok or might be a crazy person. He was a young guy we were chatting with who seemed nice enough but claimed he was lucky to be alive after just escaping a horrific accident on the I-15 where a flat bed truck lost a forklift truck on the road and it caused a massive pile up with one child dead. This was on July 9th. I didn't hear anything about this crash on the news.

My wife things the Cromwell should called the Crown: Where we treat you like royalty. It appeared that if you're nice and tip they are really nice to you there.

We went to the Cromwell early to play before dinner at Giada's Sunday of July 4th weekend. We played probably three hours and being the end of a holiday weekend, it was very quiet. We played VP at the bar and had a good time visiting with the bartenders. Very friendly. Tracy, I believe, suggested my wife have a strawberry martini instead of daiquiri which turned out to be excellent. I ended up switching as well.

We tried the hi limit room but limited VP machines. Did terrible then moved out to the multi play quarters where we won it all back. So casino was nice, gambling and bar were fun.

Giada's was excellent and we will be back for another bone in ribeye when I am more hungry.

Had a good time here. Nice hits on some machines, and even though I got slaughtered at the tables, the dealers were extremely talkative and fun. One dealer was so new that he was asking me when to get paid and when not to get paid on some of the hands.

Barbary Coast / Bill's was always a favorite stop for my wife and I. I will be interested to see the changes myself.

No not really, I was playing mini bacc right outside the HL room on a Tuesday night in May and it was empty....rest of the casino was packed.

We have spent a good deal of time in the Cromwell on our last two trips for a few reasons. The drink service is awesome. The place is beautiful. They have Avatar slots that we haven't seen anywhere else. Everyone is super friendly. I've won $700 and $800 on each of our respective times there. Love that place.

I dropped by.. it was just a casino... that's how I felt about it. It's nice that it's quaint, the staff seemed very attentive and friendly, and it's nice that you can just walk right out the door.

But, there is just nothing there, I guess I'm used to the over abundance of amenities all the other hotels have. I feel like it would be an interesting experience to stay there. But I feel like I would have to leave for almost everything, and that seems inconvenient. Especially because it's surrounded by crappy hotels.. clearly I'm not gonna leave to go eat anything at Flamingo.. gross. But, it's not a deal breaker.

When I went for the soft opening I was hoping they'd keep the same level of superior service, sounds like it's still going well. The only thing that hinders me from returning are the basic rooms. They're nice, but small, dark, and no tub albeit a nice rain shower. If I could somehow guarantee a better room or even a chance of working the $20 sandwich I'd definitely stay there again. Anyone have any upgrade luck so far?
