    So, if a group of middle aged couples rented a couple cabanas at one of the nicer hotels, and toward the end of the day as the cabanas were closing decided to have a chicken fight contest, do you think that type of fun and frivolity would be allowed or would that get those engaging in such activity tossed ASAP?

    Horseplay in pools can lead to injuries. Injuries lead to insurance and legal issues for the hotel. Insurance and legal issues lead to a rapid clampdown on any horseplay. If someone in your group cracked their head open on the edge of the pool, they could sue the hotel for their own negligence. Our legal system is backwards and insane.

    A lifeguard or some other hotel peon would ask you to stop at the very least. If the chicken fighting carried on anyway, they'd definitely eject you from the pool...even if you're a guest at the resort.

    I think it might be the “foxy boxing” version of cock fighting.

    Usually played with two teams, each team usually consists of one guy and one gal.
    Teams get in pool. The girl rides on the guy's shoulders, straddling his neck. Each team tries to knock the other team over or seperate the guy/gal.
    If, after 5 minutes there is no winner the gals have to turn around. Which, obviously.....makes it difficult for to the guys to see.

    I am pretty sure it is only allowed if the guys on the lower level of each team are urinating in the pool at the same time the contest is going on......it ups the "skill level" and "concentration" required

    Confused me a little as well I had visions of chickens going for it pool side, then I thought surely chickens are not allowed on hotel property, isn't that why Caesar Palace wouldn't let their hotel rooms be used in The Hangover:)

    Haha...I figured it was the deal with the ladies on the men's shoulders.

    Which I wholeheartedly approve of especially when flimsy bikini tops are in play

    As an example of the "Liability Era" we have now entered, this sort of thing (fun) was prevalent in the 70's-early 80's. Then everybody started lawyering up and suing anyone for anything. The result is more rules, restrictions and guidelines, as everyone has to cover their own behinds nowadays...

    I agree, one of the greatest downfalls of our great country and the need for people to take on a victim mentality, is our inability to participate in chicken fights, in the pools of the Las Vegas Strip.:thumbsdown:

    I bet they're chicken fighting in China.:grrr::grrr:

    I think that why there's no diving boards in Vegas hotels any more. When i used to stay at the Sands and Dunes in the 70's/80's, one of the most popular things to do was dive off.

    Besides, if it goes 5 minutes and the girls turn around, the guy could suffocate and drown. Or choke to death. Some things are best done behind closed doors.:kiss:

    Let's also remember: the vast majority of Vegas pools are only 3 and a half feet deep.
