Lol, that campaign is brilliant. First time I flew Spirit, I hated it, but now that I know what to expect and pack light, love the savings.

Just out of (very morbid) curiosity, how many miles does it usually take to get a free flight with Spirit?

At least 10k (plus $10 in fees maybe?) for one with no status/club.

That would be a very Spirit-esque thing to do: announce a promotion 2 weeks after it ends. :evillaugh

    Now it is saying

"Timing: The Promotion will end on or before July 31, 2014 at 11:59 p.m. ET, unless extended by Spirit."

I guess I was hallucinating before...

Understand how they work. And yes I have book a few flights with them. But on June 27 our flight out of LAS to Portland was cancelled. Stood in a line for over 6 hours to get rebooked. Spirit did not offer us anything while waiting in that line. Not even an explanation. Did not get to our hotel until after 1 in the morning. It was horrible. Would I fly them again? Only because I already have another flight booked with them for 3 people that with even check-in bags and upgraded seats we are still saving over $400. Am I worried? Oh yes. Hoping that it was only a fluke.

And yes I am going for the 8000 points. LOL

I got my 8000 miles, but from MSP you need 12500 to get a one way ticket.

I leave tomorrow night for Vegas on Spirit, I love how with the right luggage I can get to Vegas for under $100 round trip and that deal comes up quite often.
How can you complain about any airline that PAYS YOU (saves you, really the same thing) $75 an hour to fly with them?

Interesting on that one way amount, too bad I can't gift my 8k miles to someone for free, probably not going to use mine in the 90 days before they expire

If Spirit was giving away a complete return trip with accomodations, I would not take it. Once was all it took to convince me to never fly them again.

You are really lucky, Foos. My flights at night have all been delayed. BTW, they still do the $50 match play at the D, take your boarding pass along.

I don't hate them as I've never flown them. I'm afraid to fly them. Luckily my last 2 Vegas flights with Delta have been at awesome prices, for Delta - $225 for my June trip, and $270 for my October trip coming up. If Delta ever goes over $400 again on Vegas flights, I will probably break down and give Spirit a try.
