We have two couples heading out to Vegas next week staying at Cosmo. The wives will be there for a conference, but have an off day on Thursday and I took it upon myself to rent a cabana for the four of us at the boulevard pool. The cabana is $750 F/B minimum for the day. I don't think we will have any trouble hitting that after looking at their price list.

I am wondering what the vibe is like on a typical Thursday. I have read everything from relaxing, to Jersey Shore/Frat party mayhem. Anyone have any personal experience?

We are in our mid-30s, go to Vegas 2-3 times a year and love to drink, gamble and have a good time. In all of our trips to Vegas, we have never really done a pool day. We love to socialize at the craps/BJ tables, so I assume the same would go for the pool. Did I make a good choice with the boulevard pool?

I wouldn't be surprised by that though. I walked through the casino a few Saturdays ago and I swear I thought any minute a Jersey Shore episode or a Planet Fitness commercial was going to break out. I've never seen so many shirtless goobers in such a well appointed place before. Maybe I was there on an event day and didn't realize it.

Was it the 21st? If so that was EDC and would explain it.

No, we were in town for EDC weekend also, but this was the weekend after that (27th/28th). I actually liked the EDC (raver) crowd much better than the DB crowd I'm referring to. EDC weekend was GREAT for people watching!

Not sure then. Kraftwerk was at the Chelsea and that is absolute opposite of frat party imo.

On a side note I actually found Cosmo somewhat slower than expected during EDC this year. Aside from the buffet line for those without status everything was pretty mellow for a summer weekend.

Thanks paperposter, I was hoping you would weigh in since you have a lot of experience at Cosmo. Based on this I think I will cancel the reservation and just try and grab some chairs by the pool that day. That way I can take whatever we don't spend on drinks to the craps table.
