What do you do with your free play?

So how do you utilize your free play? VP, Hi-Limit Slots, Pennies? I usually break it out at the bar playing VP while I watch a sporting event on which I have action.

I almost always treat it like a part of my bankroll.

I use it on HL slots with maybe $300+ of my own money. It really depends on how much in FP I have.

Depends on how much I have. If it's just pocket change, I'll treat it as part of my bankroll. If it's over $100, I'll head to as full pay a VP machine as I can find and convert it to cash. It then becomes seed money for the next trip. Although tomorrow I'm going to convert a stack of free play into lunch at Rollin' Smoke. :D

I run it through quarter VP the minimum amount of hands it takes to cash it out without change. Nice to have a few quick "winning" sessions here and there, especially after a run of bad luck.

I've started saving it for the last machine I play on the last day. I know what machines are working for me by then. I run it through, cash out, and it becomes my exit cash.

I used to play it through slots but now I play most of it through VP.

I used to try to maximize the cash out value of freeplay, i would try to find a 10/7 (those were the days) or a 9/6 (those were the days) video poker machine and try to get the last penny out of the free play.

Then, after watching those old Travel Channel videos with Max Rubin vs Anthony Curtis, I realized over a single trip or session, you never get anywhere near the HA.

My wife and I gamble for it at home before leaving. If we have $1000, we put it up for grabs at a mix of cribbage, gin rummy, and backgammon. It gives us something to look forward to and we're about 50/50. Once in Vegas, it just becomes part of our regular bankroll. We usually play through the mins on it first, cashing out as we go to play in multiple machines.

If I have FP that can only be used in machines then I go into the HL room and seek out a nice $5 or $10 machine and drop it in there along with a couple hundo of my own. Just like Chuck did...only I haven't hit for $12k doing this...yet!

But I'd prefer to have promo chips...I like to use them on craps. Use them to buy the 4 or 10 and see if I can nail a couple hits

If I'm being calculating and dull I use it as part of my normal VP bankroll. But I have more fun when I put it into a higher limit slot. My favorites are $10 or $25 Top Dollar.

Yeah, when I get them (seems like less lately) I just start regular play with them.

I've noticed lately that at CET, the count bar for the next point does not start moving until the free play is used up.

If it's a decent amount like I typically get in Vegas $300-700, I'll play it on $1 JOB VP to try to turn it into cash. If it's a smaller amount like at my locals - I'll just play it as part of my bankroll.

Stupid question, how to you get free played, it is based on points from previous visits, do you get some for just signing up for a card?

Sometimes there's a promo for new sign-ups but it'll be a small amount like $5 or $10. But most everyone here is referring to freeplay offers given to them by a casino based on their prior play. They more you play, the more they'll send you to lure you back in. These offers usually either come via mail/e-mail or as a part of their hotel reservation.

Same, just use it on VP at the same denomination I would be playing anyway. I don't factor it into recording my comps, I factor it into my win/loss records just like real money wagered.
