The casino has agreed to pay $100,000 to settle allegations that a supervisor shooed away state agents who were watching a high-stakes roulette table, even though state law requires all gambling to be open to the public.

This was not the casino’s first violation.

Can't blame the casino. When you have some big people playing and don't like to be watch, what do you do?

Does that mean one has the right to enter the private rooms at the Mansion while someone is playing?

If it's not open to the public, there must be a live feed to the Gaming Board.

I was hoping the fine was for the bogus shoo-away outside Bell Desk.

You need a special license to have private salon gaming I believe, and the tables need to be set up in there. If it is outside in a public area, the most the pit bosses can do is ask them to step back 3-5ft or so, but the public can still stay and hover. They can also set up some ropes around the table about the same 3-5 ft. This is what I believe the rule is but I might be wrong.

A live feed to the gaming board among other things:

    - player must have a minimum of 300k front money or credit line
    - gaming board must be notified each time beforehand whenever salon is opened and staffed.
    - keep a log of any players who enter the salon along with record of whenever they exit and enter
    - minimum of $500 bet on slots, table min is up to casino's discretion. But at least one table has to be open if salon is open.

And other things. You can read the regulations from the gaming board here, item 5.200: http://gaming.nv.gov/modules/showdocument.aspx?documentid=2945

The supervisor stepped over the line when he threatened to call security, and when he said watching the wheel was not welcome (by implication, not welcome by the casino).

If he had said to the agents that the players don't like being watched and left it at that, he'd probably be OK.
