Check out TripAdvisor and Yelp reviews. In my experience, probably I've eaten there 40 plus times, don't go there for a light snack. The portions are huge! Of particular note, the Philly cheesesteak is superb and I've spent lots of time in Philadelphia. Breakfast portions are huge too and I've never had a complaint.

The last time I ate there I sat at the counter and just watched the servers. If they weren't ordering or making up the plates to be brought to tables they were cleaning. Very impressed.

The Fireside Lounge is a hoot after 2 am! I saw a guy wheel his GF in on a wheelchair. She wasn't handicapped (more or less poured sideways into it) just hammered and passed out. She never moved while he and his buddies tossed back a few shots and left. Beware though, hookers of all persuasions have been seen there...

    Enjoy your visit!

Oh wow. We wandered in there one night last trip. The lounge part, not the diner part. We kept missing the bus back downtown (staying at Golden Nugget but using MyVegas comp at Circus Circus) and walking up a stop and missing it again. We ended up by the Peppermill. I didn't think my husband would be interested in hanging out there with me having a drink. We're not a romantic couple. Anyhow, he asked me if that was the place I was going on about about from the movie Casino and I said yes. He suggested going in for a drink since the next bus wouldn't be for a while. We ended up hanging out in the lounge, right by the fireplace. It was wonderful! It was actually romantic. The music could have been a little more mood oriented but I can't complain. We had a few drinks, old school drink menu on their website, so go check it out. We ordered the nachos which were awesome. But, it was way too much food for the 2 of us. They came around and took our picture with the fireplace in the background. We both loved it. Our next trip is with another couple and we're going to send them there. It's their first nice trip as a couple. Cue the cheesy 70's porn music, if ya know what I'm sayin'. :wink2:

My advice is don't look at pictures before you go. You can't truly appreciate the kitsch from pictures.

We had breakfast there one morning (delicious and yes, huge portions), and then popped into the lounge for a peek. Very cool, retro kitsch. It was nearly empty at that early hour (9ish) except for a very high, surprisingly friendly woman who was either a hooker or a stripper, we couldn't quite tell.

We'll definitely go back again at some point for food, drinks or both.

LOL...I think the kitsch shows up just fine in the pictures! These aren't the best photos, but help me remember how the place felt. I agree, being there is the experience. Never in the lounge at night but looks neat. Big portions, good service the two times we've been. If you order the 'fruit plate' for goodness sake, split it with someone!

Oh, and I realize the milkshakes aren't what you had in mind when you said 'drinks'...but they sure hit the spot after a couple of hours of shopping at ROSS, which is next door to the restaurant. LOL....

I can't find my photos but the Peppermill is good and you will not leave there hungry for sure. I am going toward the end of this week and will snap a few photos for you. Also I remember the last time I was in there it was so so cold. A sweater or jacket would be good if you tend to get cold. The food is awesome and they have good service.

I don't have pics but I would advise going once for breakfast for the big dish stuff and then go in the evening (If you have the time) for nice cocktails and an old-school Vegas feel at the lounge.

It has a place in my heart because my then boyfriend/now husband took me there back in the day and it was all kinds of good. Great memories.

    Wishing you lots of fun.

Jerry Seinfeld's web show comedians in cars drinking coffee has an episode this week with George Walace in Vegas and toward the end of the clip they go for coffee and food at the peppermill. Quite funny

Went to the lounge last May for my 50th birthday party with 8 other couples. We reserved ahead of time, and I can't say enough good things about it. The service was excellent! The menu is mostly just appetizers, but they were all excellent and huge portions, we had way more food than we needed. Drinks were absolutely awesome. Poked out heads into the restaurant, and loved it, but have not eaten in there. It has the perfect "ole" vegas feel! We will definitely go back!
