It's Just Me

I wanted to drop in and say howdy. I'm a 58 year old female who is travelling to Vegas (for the lst time) at the end of September. I stumbled on the forum during my hotel search. The plan is to stay at Ceasars in the Octavias Tower Deluxe Room.

I'm on crutches and my friend is going to be playing Hold'em, so I anticipate spending the majority of my time at the general hotel area.

I'm loving all the posts and stories of everyone's trips. I have wanted to get to Vegas for a long time but found myself ending up at Foxwoods or Montreal. See ya on the board

 

Welcome, there's; loads to do in Caasars so you will be fine. I hope the crutches are not too restrictive, it's a huge property.

There is some great info on the board so check out the searches and post some questions as there are people here who know every inch of the strip.

Thanks! I know I'm going to be pleased with my choice. I actually checked into renting a scooter while I'm there but I don't like being restricted. I've been on crutches a year and it's why I'm treating myself to this trip before my surgery.

 

I can't walk without them, so it looks like I need to reserve a rental scooter. Thanks for the advice, I'm learning a lot reading all the posts.

 

Welcome aboard and like above poster said yes Caesars is pretty big I hope ya figure something out cause on crutches will be very tiresome

As an update, I just spoke to the desk at Ceasars and they have the scooters there at the same rate. I'm assuming it's an arrangement for the convenience of the traveler.

 

I hope you enjoy your first trip... while you are in Vegas... be sure to check out downtown. They have cabs equipped to carry scooters but you must ask for the special cab... have the valet person do it if you don't want to.

The reason I say check out downtown is as I have gotten older... I find downtown suits me to a tee. All the casinos are close together... it's out one door and in another in no time... if you get tired of one place the other is next door, not a block away. Also if money is an object, the minimums for table play are much lower... especially in the evening when everything on the strip goes up to $20 or more.

For your friend downtown is where holdem got famous... try Golden Nugget or Binions... among others for good holdem games.

While downtown try either Andiamo's in The D or Hugo's in Four Queens. Andiamos was voted best downtown restaurant and Hugo's Cellar has old world elegance and women are especially treated nicely with a red rose to start the evening... both restaurants have menus online and have pictures of their food on Yelp and Travel Advisor.

A trip downtown... where Las Vegas started... is definitely worth your time... plus you will probably get a lot of offers for free rooms and comps for your next trip... even limos if you or your friend gambles a lot... comps are much easier downtown.

 

Between Ceasars and its mall you won't have to worry about going too far for food or fun.
