    My Trip Report

So. I went to EDC. And I went hard. So I will tell you about it in what I will try to make as brief of a story as possible.

My friend I was flying with got the flu, so I flew alone in the afternoon to Vegas from San Jose, CA. The flight was delayed, great. When I got on the father I sat next to proceeded to hit on me. I was nice but made it clear I would be too busy in Vegas to meet him up.

I land, grab my baggage, and take the shuttle to my room at the Luxor. There I meet my other two guy friends, J and A who are completely trashed from the pool party at Daylight. A passes out on the bed while J and I walk the crazy hot strip to Walgreens and sweat our asses off. We pick up two bottles of New Amsterdam: pineapple and orange. Also, some chasers: pineapple juice and sprite. And of course some waterbottles. Before leaving we grab a huge boxed pizza to bring back to room, and while we waited for it we downed some 24ozers (me a strawberrita, J two beers). It was a very long walk back to the hotel, but worth it once we started drinking and stuffing our faces. Then, we got ready to go to Marquee for Armin Van Buuren. By that point I was donzoes (even though I had drank significantly less than the guys).

We got to Marquee, I lied and showed fake texts that I was on the guest list when all I did was text a promoter to see what DJs were where. I got in free, the guys had to pay $120 each. They ordered drinks, I ended up only drinking half of one. I don't remember being that great of a time, only that the guys were complaining of “getting raped” at the door because of what they had to pay.

We left when they closed, maybe 4-5 am? We continued hanging out in the room and casino until probably 6 or so. Then we slept and woken up by my boyfriend and his friends (4 of them total) who had driven here since 12 am and were going to use our room to shower for the pool party at Daylight too. I was going to get ready too, but I was tired and they were hogging the shower. Good thing I stayed in bed being lazy, because not too long after they left did I start puking. I drank tons less than the guys less night, and I can usually handle my drinks – what's going on! Anyway, my guys friends decided to go to EBC for Diplo. I stayed in the room, slept, and continued puking. I ordered room service for a bagel and could only finish like a fourth of it before it came up. Wonderful.

But I was good again by the time we planned to get ready for EDC. My boyfriend picked me up at 6, as I was going to roll with his friends since we were getting will call for the tickets my friend (with the flu) bought and couldn't make it for. They were only going to go to EDC Friday.

The drive there took only about an hour because we took tons of back roads and short cuts. Sweet. Will call had no line, and EDC was good about making it speedy process to get in this year too. When we got in, it was amazing as EDC has always been for me. Danced a lot, drank a lot, etc...

Then we all checked into their room at the Cosmo and my boyfriend and I lounged by the pool. About midday we went back to my room to wait for my friend who had the flu and had postponed her flight to arrive. She came, my boyfriend left, and we all got ready for EDC and predrinked (except for her – you'll see she wasn't very fun this trip). However, before we left, she did decide to try half of one of my “special” cookies, and the boys also had a couple. I wanted to have energy, so I abstained.

J and A's friend from Vegas came and drove us all. When we got there, everything was cool again until about a half hour in. Then we saw A throw up – a lot. He walked and puked, it was actually kind of funny. Also, my flu friend said she was tripping out and would leave with A on the shuttle. I decided to escort them because they seemed in bad shape.

We got to the hotel and A went to sleep while flu friend and I went to Earl's Sandwich because she was hungry. I wasn't, even though all I had eaten was that fourth of a bagel and a bag of chips. It was super hot on the strip and I started not feeling good either – probably because I had a heavy dress on. We took a taxi back, even though it took us a half hour to find one.

I slept for about 2 hours and then took half a cookie so I could sleep more - didn't work, but it felt nice. Everyone was still asleep on Sunday until I woke everyone up around 2 pm because I was annoyed we were wasting the day away. We all went to Wicked Spoon and gorged ourselves. I kept whining that I was craving their kale salad the whole way.

Then my boyfriend called me to tell us they were leaving and wanted to know if we wanted to give them any of our things that wouldn't make it through security checkpoints on the plane. They picked me up and drove me back to the hotel so I could give it to them. My friends met me up there and we all got ready for EDC again, except for the flu friend. She made up excuses, like it was too hot, she tripped out and didn't like the environment anymore, and was about to start her period and was awaiting cramps. Whatever, I could sell her ticket so I did at the gates.

That night, well just say that I went harder than I had any of the other nights – however it wasn't the funnest. I'd say Friday was the best, probably because I was with my boyfriend and people that actually danced their hearts out like me. We took the shuttle back to the hotel at 5:30 am and went straight to bed even though we talked about not sleeping and just drinking. When we saw our beds our minds changed. I usually take my showers at night, so I hit that first. The hot water was glorious on my sore leg muscles.

I set the alarm for 10 am since our checkout was at 11, but I was awake laying in bed way before that. At 10:45 am I checked out through my phone and we got everyone out by 11:15 am. We checked in our bags at the bell desk and proceeded to hang out in the hotel gambling and the guys watched the sports area, but didn't bet. I won $21.75 on the $0.25 roulette machines using the martingale system. We drank at the bar and ate too. I only managed to eat another fourth of a bagel and a bag of doritos. (Chips are my go-to when I have trouble eating. And no I wasn't nauseas, just excited.) Around 5 the same friend as before picked us all up and drove us to the airport. The guys flight was at 8 and ours was at 7. We hung out at a diner and drank, and they ate.

Then we left for home and hugged. Bye bye Vegas.

I forgot about EDC and didn't plan on going a few of my friends went and I think I'll try to make it next year.

Thanks for the report. I heard it was a blast. Lots of half naked people with body paint.

Yeah I travel with her often. She's my best friend, but she's starting to age out of the rave scene, like me... but I'm good at having fun at the events I've already committed too.

Oh no I just reacted bad to the alcohol. Probably because I hadn't drank in a few weeks. After that my stomach acted like I was riding a bike and was all good again. I out drank everyone continuously after that. Just a weird episode.

Umm I don't know? But it's in good condition and I bought each piece for between $50-$80 so half price is what I'm looking for, it is a good deal.

My assistant buys and sells used clubwear on craigslist all the time. No idea if she is getting half of retail for it, but she definitely gets something

I remember how excited you were for EDC, too bad it didn't quite turn out the way you expected. I get very excited for trips and fun things so i get even more disappointed when they do not meet my expectations.

Put that shit on craigslist, don't wash it, and mention you sweated your ass off all day in it. The creepy pervs will pay you $100-$180 for it.

Great TR! We were going to do EDC this year and couple of the guys backed out, so it is great to read your stories to sort of put me there.

Sucks that your group wasn't at 100%. Having a friend with the flu could definitely do that. I hope I never get that sick before/during a Vegas trip. But I'm sure you partied harder than I ever could though! Thanks for sharing!
