For those of us who are Total Rewards customers living in the east (i.e., Washington, DC area), this is a bonanza. I'm a city dweller with no car. I usually rent a car, take it to Atlantic City, deal with all the hookers and pushers, and oh by the way try and get a little coin in with Caesars or Bally's. Now, I can take a $12 train from Union Station (four blocks from home), go straight into Charm City, hit the Horseshoe , hang out in the Inner Harbor/Fells Point, and then just take a train back that night. $24 round trip, no hotel, no muss no fuss. GREAT way to build from my current level of CET Platinum without having to pay for a car, a hotel (if not comped), a tank of gas, tolls...

That is a very good area. Don't forget, you can also take the water taxi to Little Italy for some great Italian cuisine, get a REAL crab cake, and walk the 4 blocks up the street and catch an Orioles game. Ravens stadium is right there as well.

I'm crazy about the Inner Harbor area.

Yep...I'm on board with all this stuff. I love eating in Little Italy and then having Fells Point right there. Spending time in Baltimore is a legitimate vacation, because it's a TOTALLY different town from Washington (even though they're just 35 miles apart).

Does anyone have an official opening date for the Horseshoe? Not that I plan to visit on opening day. I made that mistake with maryland live, only to find the line to get in the door was about 12,000 people deep

Yup, I'm there soon after it opens. We are in Bmore all the time. If you take the train, you still have about a 20 min walk tho' and I don't understand why the light rail doesn't have a stop there.

I agree with this, and there's one other thing that would help. If the MARC Camden Line (NOT the Penn Line) actually had a few more trains throughout the day. In other words, if I could take a 10 am train to Camden Yards for $7, that qould be even better. But in lieu of that, I can live with a $12 train (or $7 MARC Penn Line Train into Penn Station) followed by a $12 cab ride, give or take.

Albeit a proud native of Philadelphia, where I lived for 43 years (-4 years military) and will always be a Philadelphian in every way possible, I have lived in St. Mary's County, MD since '93. I made many trips to the Inner Harbor when I still lived in Philly and since I moved here (job related). I am looking forward to the new casinos.

I'm going to be in Baltimore visiting my BIL Sept 11-14 and was hoping that the Horseshoe would be open. Here's to hoping there are no delays in opening and I get to degen it up!!

Ill be in Vegas from sept 2-6 and then come home for 5 days and go to Baltimore from the 11-14. Hope Vegas doesn't burn me out from gambling.

Hello, I'm trying to find out info on Baltimore casino. I couldn't find where it would have a hotel so do you think it will have good neighbor hotels like in Cleveland? I've never been there but it sounds like there is a lot to do there even without a casino.
