Someone just brought back a really old memory of my friend Julie. We used to work at Shoreline Amphitheater together in Mountain View, CA. We were working a Jimmy Buffet concert and we were singing along with Margaritaville when I hear her sing:

.."Some people say that there's a woman to blame...... but I'm my own grandpa." :kill: Really? How does that work?

We all know the famous ones, "Excuse me while I kiss this guy" (Purple Haze) or "wrapped up like a ******" (Blinded by the Light)

What's your favorite one? Will you admit to any? I do one on purpose, speaking of Blinded by the Light. I always sing "gave my anus curly whirly" because it cracks up my husband. :haha:

I know back in my fraternity days we used to change the words from the Blues Brothers song Rawhide from "rollin' rollin' rollin', keep those dogies rollin" to... rollin' rollin' rollin', keep those doobies rollin'... Rawhide!

I also used to think Manfred Mann's, "Blinded by the Light" said "wrapped up like a ******", instead of " revved up like a deuce", another runner in the night.

One of my best friends in high school once sang "another Saturday night and I just got laid" (instead of paid...) We never let her forget it:evillaugh I still sing it that way when it comes on the radio!

Many car rides with my mom arguing over what could possibly be the lyrics of Louie Louie :)

My husband never gets lyrics right. The song How Bizarre by OMC he always sings "how was I how was I.

And the Night Ranger song Don't tell me you love me, he always sings Please tell me you love me cause I just have to know. Lol. Kinda changes the tone of the song eh?

LOL! That is a good one. We have different lyrics for that song called "Don't tell me you're pregnant". I also enjoy Elton John's classic "I guess that's why they call it cheap booze".

But those are on purpose. Yes, I was the "Weird Al" of my peer-group back in the day. :haha:

For years I couldn't figure out the meaning of "My drinks were still in line", until I realized the line was...

Darlin you're the reason why, "I drink, swear, steal, and lie." :confused2:

Hotel California.... "She got the Mercedes Benz is NOT "She got the first eighty cents".
Big Boys don't cry...."Big boys don't cry" is NOT "Requesting quiet".

From Sting (Police) "Every Breath You Take"

    O can't you see
    You belong to me
How my poor heart aches with every step you take

I hear it and sing it like this:

    O can't you see
    You belong to me
How Hoo How Hey...with every step you take

    That's how I hear it! I don't know why, lol!

Tom Griswold of the Bob and Tom radio show has shared this one. He said long ago he thought the AC/DC song "Dirty Deeds" lyrics were "Dirty deeds and the Dunder Chief," like the Dunder Chief was some sort of Aboriginal leader or something.

George Michael and Elton did that song together, but there were rumors MJ and Elton were going to do it was well. Too soon?

Kind of related to this, but intentionally said and not mis-heard.

If you ever see REM in concert and they do "What's The Frequency Kenneth", on the very last part, Stipe will often turn his back to the audience very naturally as he supposedly sings "I never understood, the frequency" but very clearly sings out "I never understood, don't {f-bomb} with me!" with his back turned so you can't read lips. I've seen/heard this twice.

Then, I saw this with an 80s cover band and I listened carefully to the original and it sure sounds like it's in there too! The tune "Come On Feel The Noise" when they get to the last time they (supposedly) sing "Girls, rock your boys" they actually sing "Girls, {f-bomb} your boys" very clearly. I've listened to the original record and it sure sounds like the f-bomb is in there too! :)

I remember a friend singing along to a Metallica song called Sad but True. He was not singing Sad but True, he was singing Sex Patrol.

I have a couple of them for you guys.
The 1966 version of Guantanamera by the Sandpipers. Part of the lyrics always sounded like "it was a one ton tomato".
Then there was this. At Thanksgiving dinner a few years back we were talking about strange or misinterpreted lyrics and my sister comes up with this...."Who the hell is Cynda?". I ask Cynda?, and she says yeah you know that Elvis song "Return to Cynda".

Just about everything my Nirvana or Chili Peppers, I just make random sounds along with the lyrics and it sounds the same to me. :haha:

You guys have some good ones.

I swear one of these trips I want to take over a karaoke bar and have everyone do Bohemian Rhapsody to see what they think the lyrics are.
