Six adults and two late teens. Staying at the MGM and needing to be at the MGM for an 8 PM event. Where would be a good place for a nice birthday dinner. Let's assume the 8 of us can eat (and drink a bit) for $50 per person. Not seafood or steakhouse.

    Your thoughts?

If you are not looking for super fancy I would hit up Wolfgangs at MGM. Its open to the casino, but the food is wonderful and serivce is quicker than other places to get you to your show on time.

I'd vote Mina Pub. I've had great experiences there with groups even larger than that (including one trip during a bachelor party when people were drunkenly straggling in, one or two at a time, for probably close to an hour, and they were incredibly accommodating), and it's casual enough that the teens will enjoy themselves. Food and drinks are fantastic.

If you want Mexican and something very non-formal, we enjoy Diablos in front of Monte Carlo from time to time. I'm not sure it would fall under your definition of "nice" but its lively, they have good margaritas, and you can people watch. Unless you went crazy with drinks, you would be well under the $50 per person.

Nine Fine Irishman in NYNY is another option if you want more of a laid-back pub setting (again much less formal).

this will sound stupid but with the kids and a 50$ per person what about the hard rock on the strip right by mgm .
the drink part is the problem i assume 8$ a beer 10-15 for wine or mixed at any reasurant so it doesnt leave much room.

bump up to 75$ i would say do wolfang or a few others in mgm and you will be fine. just from past experince..

nice and budget and birthday are hard .

hershey chacolote factory just oppend( just kidding)

Is the Rainforest Café still located inside the MGM? If so that would be my suggestion.

It's been a few years since I've been but Fiamma was a great option for larger parties. The food was very good and served family style, not sure if they still do it that way though.

Unless you are under the age of 12 I would stay away from this place! The food is bad and even the teenagers will not enjoy it. IMHO.

I can't speak from experience but the TAP Sports Bar looks like it might fit the bill.

    Thanks for the help folks....
We would rather not do a chain (like Rainforest, etc) since we can go there in a lot of cities.

    Our current thoughts are
    At the MGM,
    • The Michael Mina Pub
    • Wolfgang Puck Bar and Grille.
    • Fiamma

Across the street at NYNY is another Italian place Il Fornaio

Off the strip is Casa Di Amore they will provide a “free” limo to and from dinner

    Opinions? Other suggestions?
