I am looking to do the High Roller - mid afternoon on a Wed (July 2 to be exact). Would it be necessary to get tickets in advance? Or could I walk up and buy tickets with out a huge wait?

I was there the last week in may and there was nobody in line.
On a Saturday, there was a steady line, but no wait time.
The line seems to move steadily. On Monday when I went on, there was absolutely no one at the ticket kiosks or the cashier at the entrance. A 3-4 minute walk thru to the pods and didn't see another customer. The pods were coming around empty and we have one all to ourselves.
Depending on the time you go, there shouldn't be a problem getting the tix right before you plan to go on. Definitely no reason to pay extra for the express pass or to have a reserved time.

Don't worry about getting on. I was there on Memorial Day weekend, the busiest time that the wheel has seen. I bought my ticket at an outdoor kiosk and was on the ride in less than 10 minutes. And that included stopping at the bar!!

You buy tickets at the kiosks based on what time you want to ride, so there are no lines to wait in.

I've been to the Linq four times since the High Roller opened and have yet to see a line. When my wife and I rode it, we bought a ticket in advance from a Kiosk and walked right on at our booked time.

Thanks for the Plat BOGO heads-up. I take it there will be little or no wait on, say, a Tuesday or Wednesday evening next month, correct?

Yes, thank you for the info about the Plat BOGO - definitely a great tip! I have a question about the parking situation at the Quad if anyone has dealt with it recently - is the valet near the High Roller easy to get to or is it a bigger nightmare than just walking from City Center?
