hello everyone, first of all its im new to this forum and im glad to be here with you fellow vegaers, anyways my question/comment is.... ive notice when i play table games ( roulette, blackjack, 3card etc) on the milfe properties i dont get any comp points. The pit boss usually takes my card and logs something in onto his computer but i never recieve any points. Im positive of this because i have very little points and thats because i played slots for like an hour one trip. Everything else is all tables. anyone can help?
You get tier credits and express comps for table games but not "points" which are only earned on slots/VP and can be converted into POINTPlay (i.e. freeplay) on machines.
in my last 2 trips to vegas ive spent a good 2000 on tables and i literally have like 2 dollars on tier credit. is that normal?
Matters how much you bet and the game you played. Most of the properties won't even rate you below a $25 bet at table games. That was the old way, but I've heard some properties do rate players under $25/betnow. $2 is likely your express comp balance. It sounds about right if you were playing low stakes.
Tier Credits are not measured in dollars...they are just points/credits You shouldnt play for comps...play what you enjoy and feel comfortable with. ~33 Tier Credits per $1 theo is a rough rule of thumb 5% of theo for Express Comps is a rough rule of thumb Theo = average bet ($/hand) * hands per hour (hands/hour) * Hours per day (Hours/day) * House Advantage (%) = $/day Average Bet --> Pit Boss Input Hand Per Hour --> Hotel Standard (Not publically known) Hours Per Day --> Pit Boss Input House Advantage --> Hotel Standard (Not publically known)
This sounds about right. Although, I was under the impression at mlife that express comps were around 10% of theo (and 30% discretionary). And, I thought it was roughly 40 tier credits per $1 of theo. Perhaps I'm thinking pre-2012 when the new rules went into effect though. I'm sure it express comps vary with the tier bonus as well though.
I have heard 13%, 10%, 5% for ECs...last I heard it was 5% so thats just what I am going by till I heard something different its pretty close to 33 TC per $1 theo...we had some good data from a recent trip by jdvegas (I think)
I play blackjack almost exclusively at Mlife (& Wynn) & do get credit for table games but what may be confusing the OP is that $2,000 he mentioned ~ if that was lost "fairly quickly" the tier points won't accumulate. I've been at tables where players will come in & bet purples for a few hands & lose & they're gone in 15 minutes! Time at the tables is very important too.
The last time I was at the Bellagio MLife desk, the attendant was explaining the MLife system to a new member and she told him that at the Bellagio the minimum bet to get rated is $25/hand. And as mentioned, they likely won't even bother with the calculations unless you're sitting at the table for a significant period of time. Probably at least an hour at the "min" bet of $25.
This was 100% at one time...but these days it really is dependent on the Pit Boss. I have been rated under $25 a hand many times, and have heard of others being rated below $25 as well. I dont think the Pit Boss enters time though. When you sit down and buy in, he slides your card and enters your buy in (and maybe a bet value if there was a slight delay before he made it to the table), then he makes his way around the tables in his pit, when he gets back to your table he enters your current bet...virtually time stamping that entry. So the computer has your time as the time between your initial buy in and this most recent entry. So when you bust out and leave, you lose the time you played between the previous time stamp and when you leave. If you color up and leave, they enter how much you left with and that acts as another time stamp This is a theory of mine and I have zero evidence to support it...but it seems logical to me instead of having to have the PB enter a time
As mentioned, the two most likely explanations are that the minimum bet was too low to register (and I agree completely that the $25 minimum is enforced sporadically at best), or that your play session was too short. Also, don't forget that your Mlife account will show five different figures -- tier credits (which are displayed in the main window under "Account Summary"), along with express comps, point play, free play, and HGS points. You're only earning tier credits and express comps from table games, the others relate solely to slot play.
