Anybody have personal recommendations for a bar on The Strip with good drinks/bartenders AND decent VP (over 98%)? I know VPfree2 has a big list, but that doesn't tell me anything about the atmosphere/drinks/bartenders.

I've heard Cosmo has great cocktails at Book and Stage but that the VP is 6/5 BP (96.87%). I've also heard Bellagio Baccarat Bar has OK 7/5 BP (98.01%) and great cocktails. Any other recommendations?

Downtown recommendations are fine too, but personally looking for The Strip as this is where I spend most of my time!

    Cheers!

Lift Bar at Aria has 9/5 JoB at $1 (98.44%), and fantastic bartenders who are willing to go off-book if you give them a general idea of what you want. I've been spending a lot of time there on my recent trips. Only downside is that it can definitely get overcrowded.

Luxor High Limit Bar. 9/6 JoB for $1 a spin. Great times.

Good find. I didn't realize they had 9/6 JoB at the bar for dollars there.

Bally's (Bar near poker room) and PHo extra lounge has 7/5 Bonus w/STP (98.29%) for quarters on their multigame machines. Note: you only have to play one line at 6 credits to play STP.

I also like to play 7/5 Triple Bonus Plus (97.67% max; plays similar to DDB) at the Quad catalyst bar the most though because they will comp you Dogfish 90 minute IPA for playing. The general vibe there at the Catalyst bar is good too, but no comment on mixed drinks, I never order those. Their newest bar/gaming area, TAG lounge, supposedly has a huge beer selection. No idea how they comp though since it opened after my last trip. :(

That's a good find. vpFREE2 is sometimes out of date.

    Thanks

Thanks, looks like a good resource for VP in general that I haven't used before! Unfortunately, like VegasDave said, it doesn't help me find a great bar with VP...

A few VP bars I can recommend by location (minimum 99.17% or 8/5 Bonus Poker, $1 or less coin in).

    *** Indicates personal favorite.

    Strip
***Luxor - $1 9/6 JOB @ the High Limit Bar. Hard to beat those paytables on the Strip playing at the bar. Drink service was decent the last time I was there which was awhile ago since I backed off of MILFe play and the South Strip.

    Near Strip
*** Gold Coast Island Bar - $0.50 - $1 9/6 JOB. Quarters were once an option, then they were all pulled, and after a large revolt, reinstated though at the fifty cent min level. Beer on tap, friendly bartenders, can get a bit smokey near the sports book/ locals playing around the usually crowded (though large) bar. You can also play 8/5 Bonus Poker at these machines.
    Hard Rock - $1 + 8/5 Bonus Poker (I've never played there).
Orleans - $0.25 - $1 8/5 Bonus Poker. Beer flows at the bars I've played at (w/ decent comps to boot).
Palace Station - $0.25 + $1 Progressive @ Trackside Bar (never played there).

    Downtown
***The D - $0.25 8/5 Bonus Poker (99.17% Progressive) @ 2nd floor Vue Bar, draft beer, friendly barstaff what more can you want.
El Cortez -$0.25 - $1 play 8/5 Bonus Poker (99.17%) at the bar near the hotel lobby and the other bar near the table games.
*** Boar's Head Bar - 9/6 JOB, great selection of home brewed beer, and scratch cards for quads. My favorite downtown VP bar.

    Summerlin
*** Rampart Round Bar - 9/6 JOB. Blue hairs are everywhere, but it's a nice place to play when you are staying in Summerlin.
Red Rock Resort - 8/5 BP - A younger drinking crowd, decent quarter progressives, the drinks flow and the fun follows. Usually play there higher paytable games.

Tons. But the question here was specifically about bartop VP, and I can tell you that MGM, for example, has $0.25 VP at Centrifuge and Zuri, the paytables are a few steps below "decent".

Monte Carlo has bar top VP in at least 2 places. Not sure I'd call it "good VP", but they have it. I played there last month.

I had a lot of fun at The Mirage a few weeks ago. The GF and I got comped pretty much anything we asked for (shots and goose + mixers but nothing fancy).

I was teaching her at the same time as playing so no major play, just max bet 0.25. Can't remember the name of the bar but if you go in the main entrance and go right it is down there on the way to self park (or maybe north valet).

That Best Video Poker page on the LVA site gets the information directly from vpFREE2.com. Says so right at the top of the page. It's just a condensed summary of what is on vpFREE2.

@Monte Carlo they have bar top video poker at Ignite and Score. Ignite has progressive for quarters. Can get pretty high, I hit it once around $1900.00 last New Years Day.

They definitely have it (I think almost EVERY casino has some bartop VP for quarters), but as others said, paytables are less than desirable. Best game to my knowledge that MC offers for quarters is 6/5 Bonus (96.87%) at Score and Ingite I think, definitely at Score, hit four Aces there , and MGM 8/5 Bonus Deluxe (97.40%) the long bar to the left of the Lobby Bar and across from Whiskey Down. The one bar I checked at Mirage (Sportsbook Bar) is worse than these two, best being 30/6/5 Bonus (96.18% before prog.) and is a 10-quarter progressive. Hopefully the other Mirage Bars are better than that, but I never got around to checking them.

Whiskey Down has 9/5 DDB (97.91%) at the $0.25 level which is the best paytable for quarter bar VP at MGM.

I thought whiskey down had higher limit table games in it? The bartops are as cheap as quarters? I very well may be getting bars confused. But yeah 9/5 DDB is near the best you can do at quarters for most of the strip.
