Finally going to stay at Vdara. Found a great deal for $80 a night! Staying 3 nights in June with my girlfriend. I've been wanting to stay at Vdara since CC was built.

It's my parents 40th wedding anniversary and they wanted to go to Vegas. My sister and her boyfriend are joining us. They are staying at Venetian. I put my parents up at the Trop and we're at Vdara. I can't wait!

My wife and I used to frequently stay there when we wanted a nice quiet trip. Haven't been there in a couple years. The rooms are great and the staff is super nice!

That's great to hear. Being connected to Bellagio is also a bonus!

Hubby and I LOVE staying at the Vdara. Nice and quiet when you want to just chill, but very easy access to the action at Bellagio, Aria, Cosmo, etc. Agree with fishyducky - the rooms are lovely, and the staff are all great. Please do post your impressions after your stay. :)

Love Vdara. The proximity to Bellagio makes it even better -- I feel like it's about equivalent to staying in the Spa Tower at Bellagio, just a quieter retreat.

I actually prefer Vdara over Aria and The B. Vdara has a great vibe for Vegas veterans who want to be in the middle of all the action, but are bored with some of the madness the casinos bring. Price wise I think Vdara is a great value proposition too.

:haha: The death ray is actually one of the reasons I chose to stay at the Vdara the first time. I'm too fair-skinned to hang out by pools, but I am geeky enough to like how sci-fi it sounds to stay at the "Death Ray Hotel".

There's only so much they can do without completely tearing down the building. I think people who are really interested in a pool would be happier at a different hotel. It's not their main selling point, by any means.

A lot of people don't like Vdara because it doesn't have a casino but I don't get that. It's literally a 5 minute walk from the Cosmo, Aria and Bellagio. And no more than 10 minute walk to PH

If I'm remembering my "engineering disasters" show correctly, there was a building in L.A. with a similar problem. It had reflective glass panels and was blinding traffic at an intersection and costing the apartments across the street thousands in air conditioning. The solution, after a year long study tracking the temperature of each panel, was to sand blast the problem panels to reduce how much light they reflect. That fixed it.

So maybe Vdara is working on a similar approach?

We stayed in a City Corner Suite in December and loved it for all the reasons that have already been stated. You are going to love it!

Well, we're back from our stay. It was amazing. I think this will be our new place. We loved Vdara! They even have a heated pool!! The Vdara is a true getaway from all the madness. Like other people stated, it's a very short walk from a lot of places. The Vdara Market was a nice addition. Didn't know they had put this in. Also, I noticed that little ice cream place or whatever it was has been replaced by a Starbucks. Here are some pics of the view. Very happy with everything. Wish we could stay longer.[IMG][IMG]

Glad you enjoyed your stay! My wife and I love Vdara as well... We were there last in November 2013 and we're glad to see that they now finished the Starbucks...

What the heck was there before the Starbucks? I remember it was a colorful place. Had a high heel shoe that was placed halfway inside the shop and the other half was outside. I never really knew what it was amd it was always closed when we would walk by there.

It was a restaurant when they first opened, "Silk Road", I think, but that didn't last long. It was basically a meeting space, used for private functions only.

Ahhhhhhhh....hence why it always looked like it was closed. Thanks for the info.

We stayed at Vdara last December. First trip to Vegas and glad we ended up at this place. The location was great, albeit a bit of a walk before actually spilling out in the strip, but that was really not a complaint for us.

We're going back again in December but giving the north side a shot this time thanks to a great rate at Palazzo. If we had stayed center it would have definitely been Vdara gain.

I stayed at the Vdara a couple of years ago and loved it. You can't beat the quality for that price.

I wonder why another restaurant never opened there? Slim pickings for food was my only complaint. I loved the pool!
